In this tenth lesson, we started studying the Gospels of the New Testament: Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. We read what the Bible has to say about Matthew and John Mark—the writers of Matthew and Mark—and marveled at how God has a habit of using unexpected people to carry out his work. We hope you can watch our Bible study and be encouraged in your love for Jesus and his Word. God bless you! In this ninth lesson, we studied the transition from the Old Testament to the New Testament. The last book of the Old Testament—Malachi—was written about 400 B.C. There was then a period of “silence” for over 400 years. It was during that time period that the books of the Apocrypha were written. We talked about the Apocrypha and explained why we don’t include the Apocrypha in our Bibles. We then read how the New Testament starts and saw how there is a clear, perfect connection between the end of the Old Testament and the beginning of the New Testament. It’s all God’s perfect Word! We hope you can watch our Bible study and be encouraged in your love for Jesus and his Word. God bless you! In this eighth lesson, we finished talking about the writing of the Old Testament by studying the story of Ezra. Ezra was a priest who grew up in Babylon but returned to Jerusalem in the 400s B.C. He was a gifted teacher of God’s Word, and he brought a copy of the Law of Moses with him to Jerusalem. We studied portions of Ezra and Nehemiah to see how Ezra read and taught God’s Word to God’s people. Some theologians today even think that perhaps God used Ezra to gather together the books of the Old Testament. He’s a little known person in the Bible whom God used to share and preserve his Word. When you hear voices in our world calling out, “Let’s follow other gods,” like money or popularity or sports or sex or family, don’t listen! In fact, be willing to make changes in your life to cut away whatever is pulling you away from God. It’s not worth it! You can love sports, but do sports love you back? No. Only God does! You can love money, but does money love you back? No. Only God does! You can love people, but will people ever love you perfectly? No. But God does! Martin Luther said: “It is better to lose friends, brothers, saints, mighty ones, and everything than to lose God.” Isn’t that true? “It is the LORD your God you must follow, and him you must revere. Keep his commands and obey him; serve him and hold fast to him.” I hope you can watch this sermon, “Called to Faithfulness.” Jesus loves you!/media:description> media:community> media:starRating count="0" average="0.00" min="1" max="5"/> media:statistics views="9"/> /media:community> /media:group> /entry> entry> id>yt:video:n_RTi5Cv_xo/id> yt:videoId>n_RTi5Cv_xo/yt:videoId> yt:channelId>UCXTNrFca3yzhZ0gzHveK3Cg/yt:channelId> title>“These Words Are Written” Bible Study #7: The Prophets/title> link rel="alternate" href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n_RTi5Cv_xo"/> author> name>Christ the King Lutheran Church - Tulsa/name> uri>https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCXTNrFca3yzhZ0gzHveK3Cg/uri> /author> published>2024-06-17T15:30:26+00:00/published> updated>2024-06-21T21:32:50+00:00/updated> media:group> media:title>“These Words Are Written” Bible Study #7: The Prophets/media:title> media:content url="https://www.youtube.com/v/n_RTi5Cv_xo?version=3" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="640" height="390"/> media:thumbnail url="https://i3.ytimg.com/vi/n_RTi5Cv_xo/hqdefault.jpg" width="480" height="360"/> media:description>In this Bible study, “These Words Are Written,” we are studying the story of the Bible from the Bible itself. In this seventh lesson, we learned about the prophets of the Old Testament. The last 18 books of the Old Testament are all written by prophets like Isaiah, Jeremiah, and Zechariah. We learned about the terms “Major Prophets” and “Minor Prophets” and read how God called Ezekiel and Jeremiah to be prophets in very unique ways. Finally, we studied a story in Jeremiah to see how God had Jeremiah write down his Word, even though Jeremiah faced terrible persecution from the king of Israel. 01.01.1970 · 01:00:00 ··· 25.06.2024 · 13:41:22 ··· ···
··· ··· ··· ··· In this Bible study, “These Words Are Written,” we are studying the story of the Bible from the Bible itself. The Bible has a lot to say about when, why, and how it was written. Starting in the Old Testament and continuing through the New Testament, we will study what the Bible says about itself. As we do, we’ll be encouraged by the truthfulness and faithfulness of God’s Word and grow in our faith in Jesus as our Savior, because “these words are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name” (John 20:31). ··· ··· ··· ··· In this Sunday's worship service, we heard Jesus' words, "I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete" (John 15:11). Jesus wants us to have complete joy in him! We hope you can watch our worship service. Jesus loves you!

3:: Deuteronomy 16:1-17 – “Complete Joy” – June 23, 2024

01.01.1970 · 01:00:00 ··· 24.06.2024 · 15:16:07 ··· ···
··· ··· ··· ··· There is something that Jesus wants to give you: Joy! Do you need more joy in your life? Here is what Jesus told his disciples on the night before he died: “I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete” (John 15:11). Jesus wants us to have complete joy in our lives. Where does that joy come from? There are two reasons why each Christian can be joyful every day: Jesus saved us. Jesus provides for us. I hope you can watch this sermon: “Complete Joy.” Jesus loves you!

4:: “These Words Are Written” Bible Study #9: From the Old to the New

01.01.1970 · 01:00:00 ··· 17.06.2024 · 19:42:46 ··· ···
6:: Deuteronomy 13:1-11 – “Called to Faithfulness” – June 9, 2024

01.01.1970 · 01:00:00 ··· 17.06.2024 · 16:19:55 ··· ···
··· ··· ··· ··· Christians are called to faithfulness to the one true God. Keep his commands and obey him; serve him and hold fast to him.” I hope you can watch this sermon, “Called to Faithfulness.” Jesus loves you!

In this sixth lesson, we learned how King Solomon—even with all of his wisdom—turned away from God. That impacted the rest of the history of the Israelites. Then, we studied the stories of two kings whom God used to preserve his Word: Joash and Josiah. Even in the middle of poor leadership and apostasy, God preserved his Word and promises. 01.01.1970 · 01:00:00 ··· 12.02.2024 · 17:52:43 ··· ···
··· ··· ··· ··· The book of Joel is one of the little books toward the end of the Old Testament. Despite its small size, it contains a message from God that’s vital for people of every age: “God’s Word for a Time of Crisis.” The book of Joel provides direction and comfort for believers in God who face crisis and calamity. Above all, it encourages God’s people to turn to God in repentance and find comfort in God’s promises. In this twelfth lesson, we continued to study what the Old Testament says about the Holy Spirit and the Trinity. We learned that even though Christians are used to going to the New Testament to learn about the Holy Spirit, the Old Testament has lots to say about the Holy Spirit too. We also discussed how some Christians today deny that the Holy Spirit and the Trinity are ever mentioned at all. It’s always tempting for us human beings to think that we can decide what God is like, instead of listening to how God describes himself in his Word. We hope you can watch our Bible study. God bless you! 01.01.1970 · 01:00:00 ··· 12.02.2024 · 16:22:50 ··· ···
··· ··· ··· ··· This is how we live with hope: You know the rest of the story. When you believe in Jesus, when you trust in his death and resurrection for you, when you listen to his promises of eternal life in heaven, you know the rest of the story. You don’t know how long the pain will last, but you know when it will end: In heaven! You don’t know what twists and turns your life will take, but you know where it will end: In heaven! You don’t know what God has planned for the rest of your life on earth, but you know that one day every sin and tear and fear will be wiped away from your eyes: In heaven! I hope you can watch this Transfiguration Day sermon: “The Rest of the Story.” God bless you!

19:: Joel Bible Study #11: Joel 2:28 and the Holy Spirit

01.01.1970 · 01:00:00 ··· 05.02.2024 · 04:17:57 ··· ···
··· ··· ··· ··· The book of Joel is one of the little books toward the end of the Old Testament. Above all, it encourages God’s people to turn to God in repentance and find comfort in God’s promises. In this eleventh lesson, we studied Joel 2:28 in depth: “And afterward, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your old men will dream dreams, your young men will see visions.” We saw how God fulfilled this prophecy by pouring out his Holy Spirit on Pentecost and by continuing to provide his Holy Spirit to all who are baptized. We also studied what the Old Testament says about the Holy Spirit and learned how Jesus encourages us to ask God the Father to send his Spirit to us. We hope you can watch our Bible study. 20:: February 4, 2024 - Sunday Worship Service

01.01.1970 · 01:00:00 ··· 05.02.2024 · 03:08:07 ··· ···
··· ··· ··· ··· In this week's worship service, we heard how the devil is like a roaring lion who seeks to devour God's people. Christians need to be alert to his temptations. Jesus is stronger than the devil, however, and his salvation gives us comfort and strength. We hope you can watch our service. God bless you!

21:: Mark 1:21-28 – “When the Devil Goes to Church…” – February 4, 2024

01.01.1970 · 01:00:00 ··· 05.02.2024 · 02:35:01 ··· ···
··· ··· ··· ··· The devil goes to church. Did you know that? Actually, the devil does some of his worst work at church. In our sermon this week, we heard how a demon-possessed man confronted Jesus at the synagogue in Capernaum. The devil goes to church to tempt God’s people to turn away from Jesus. But Jesus goes to church too. Jesus showed his power by driving the demon out of that man in Capernaum. In fact, “The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the devil’s work” (1 John 3:8). Life is filled with spiritual warfare. There are battles between good and evil going on in your heart and mind each day. But remember this: Jesus has won. Jesus has defeated the devil for us. I hope you can watch this sermon: “When the Devil Goes to Church…” God bless you!

22:: Mark 1:14-20 – “Fishing for People” – January 28, 2024

01.01.1970 · 01:00:00 ··· 29.01.2024 · 15:11:39 ··· ···
··· ··· ··· ··· Jesus wants you to go fishing—fishing for people! Just like Jesus did. Jesus had a strange way of trying to attract followers. He told people to repent! As Jesus began preaching, his message was simple: “The kingdom of God has come near. Repent and believe the good news!” (Mark 1:15). Jesus fished for people’s souls by calling people to repent and believe in him for forgiveness and salvation. But he didn’t stop there. As he called people to follow him, he said, “Come, follow me, and I will send you out to fish for people” (Mark 1:17). Just like Jesus cares about people’s souls, he sends Christians out to fish for people too, by calling them to repent and find forgiveness in Jesus. I hope you can watch this sermon about Jesus the Fisherman and how he sends us out to fish for people. God bless you!

Repentance is at the heart of Joel’s message. It’s also at the heart of God’s message to us in the Bible. In this Bible study we answered questions like: 1) What is repentance? 2) Who is repentance for? 3) When are people to repent? 4) What does the Lutheran church teach about repentance? ··· ··· ··· ··· The book of Romans in the New Testament provides one of the clearest and fullest explanations of Christian teaching in the Bible. Over the next few months, our Wednesday Bible studies are studying through Romans chapter by chapter. We hope you can watch our studies! In this fourteenth lesson, we studied Romans 10:1-21. This chapter continues the section of Romans in which Paul talks specifically about the Jews. In chapter 10, Paul lays out for us how people come to faith in Jesus. “Faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ” (Romans 10:17). Being a part of God’s people isn’t a matter of where you live or what nationality you are. It’s all about believing in Jesus through hearing God’s Word. 01.01.1970 · 01:00:00 ··· 23.01.2024 · 03:51:34 ··· ···
··· ··· ··· ··· The book of Romans in the New Testament provides one of the clearest and fullest explanations of Christian teaching in the Bible. Over the next few months, our Wednesday Bible studies are studying through Romans chapter by chapter. We hope you can watch our studies! In this thirteenth lesson, we studied Romans 9:1-32. This chapter begins a new section in Romans in which Paul talks specifically about the Jews. Paul mourns the fact that many Jews in his day had rejected Jesus as the Messiah, and he states how he longs for more Jews to believe in Jesus and be saved. As Paul writes about the Jews, he shares the very important truth that in God’s eyes, the people of “Israel” are not the members of a certain nation or ethnic group. “Israel” in God’s eyes are everyone of every nation who believes in God’s promise of salvation through Jesus. If anyone has faith in Jesus, it’s by God’s grace. We hope you can watch our Bible study. God bless you! 27:: Joel Bible Study #9: Four Topics from Joel 2

01.01.1970 · 01:00:00 ··· 22.01.2024 · 21:03:57 ··· ···
··· ··· ··· ··· The book of Joel is one of the little books toward the end of the Old Testament. Despite its small size, it contains a message from God that’s vital for people of every age: “God’s Word for a Time of Crisis.” The book of Joel provides direction and comfort for believers in God who face crisis and calamity. Above all, it encourages God’s people to turn to God in repentance and find comfort in God’s promises. In this ninth lesson, we studied four different topics from Joel 2: 1) Who is public worship for? (Answer: All people of all ages!) 2) What is “dialectical negation,” and how does it help us understand God’s Word? (Answer: It’s a Hebrew figure of speech that we find throughout the Bible.) 3) Is the God of the Old Testament different than the God of the New Testament? (Answer: Of course not! He’s the same God of love and justice.) 4) Does God change his mind? (Answer: Watch the Bible study to find out!) There is so much for all of us to learn from God’s Word. We hope you can watch our Bible study. God bless you! 28:: January 21, 2024 - Sunday Worship Service

01.01.1970 · 01:00:00 ··· 22.01.2024 · 13:36:22 ··· ···
··· ··· ··· ··· In this Sunday's worship service. we heard Jesus begin to call people to follow him, and we were reminded how Jesus calls each of us to follow him through his Word. Like Samuel in the Bible, we want to learn to say, "Speak, LORD, for your servant is listening." We hope you can watch our service. God bless you!

29:: 1 Samuel 3:1-10 – “Speak, LORD, for Your Servant Is Listening” – January 21, 2024

01.01.1970 · 01:00:00 ··· 22.01.2024 · 03:44:12 ··· ···
··· ··· ··· ··· One of the simplest characteristics of a Christian is also one of the hardest: Listening. Are you a good listener? Listening is harder than it sounds. Isn’t it more satisfying to have others listen to us than to have to listen to them? But listening is vital for a Christian, because our faith is based on God’s Word, not on our words. In fact, faith itself comes from “hearing the message” (Romans 10:17). If we want to keep growing in our faith in Jesus, it’s important to set our opinions aside, close our mouths, and listen to Jesus speak to us in his Word. Like Samuel in the Bible, God wants us to learn to say, “Speak, LORD, for your servant is listening” (1 Samuel 3:9). I hope you can watch this sermon encouraging us to listen to God’s Word. God bless you!

30:: Joel Bible Study #8: Joel 2:18-32

01.01.1970 · 01:00:00 ··· 15.01.2024 · 13:52:11 ··· ···
··· ··· ··· ··· The book of Joel is one of the little books toward the end of the Old Testament. Despite its small size, it contains a message from God that’s vital for people of every age: “God’s Word for a Time of Crisis.” The book of Joel provides direction and comfort for believers in God who face crisis and calamity. Above all, it encourages God’s people to turn to God in repentance and find comfort in God’s promises. In this eighth lesson, we studied Joel 2:18-32. These verses are filled with God’s grace for his people. When God’s people repented of their sins and turned to him, God promised to bless them, both with physical blessings and with spiritual blessings. We discussed how when God leads us through calamities and trials, he often provides us with blessings we never would have imagined. We also studied how one of Joel’s prophecies was fulfilled on Pentecost when God poured out his Spirit on Jesus’ disciples. We hope you can watch our Bible study. God bless you! 31:: “Bible Translation”: Bible Study #3—Changing Language, Unchanging Truth

01.01.1970 · 01:00:00 ··· 31.07.2023 · 21:40:15 ··· ···
··· ··· ··· ··· When it comes to the Bible, people have lots of good questions: ““Why are there so many translations of the Bible? What does it take to translate the Bible into English? Which Bible translation is really God’s Word? Can we be sure that the Bible we have is really the Word of God?” Have you ever asked one of those questions? In this Bible study, we’re studying all sorts of questions about God’s Word and how it is translated for us today. In this third lesson, we discussed how language changes over time. No language, including English, stays the same. This is one of the reasons why it’s a blessing to have new Bible translations. There is always a need for God’s Word to be translated into the language of today. As that happens, however, translators need to be careful not to change the message of the Scriptures to fit what society wants. Language changes, but God’s truth doesn’t change. We hope you can watch our Bible study. God bless you! 32:: “Bible Translation”: Bible Study #2—Understanding the Challenges of Translation

01.01.1970 · 01:00:00 ··· 31.07.2023 · 18:43:20 ··· ···
··· ··· ··· ··· When it comes to the Bible, people have lots of good questions: ““Why are there so many translations of the Bible? What does it take to translate the Bible into English? Which Bible translation is really God’s Word? Can we be sure that the Bible we have is really the Word of God?” Have you ever asked one of those questions? In this Bible study, we’re studying all sorts of questions about God’s Word and how it is translated for us today. In this second lesson, we studied the challenges of translation. Every language, including English, has lots of idioms that are difficult to translate into other languages. In addition, most words and phrases could be translated in multiple different ways. We looked at three passages from the New Testament, heard how they would be translated literally into English, and looked at a dozen different English translations to see their similarities and differences. In the end, we recognized that it’s a good thing to have so many reliable English translations of the Bible available to us today. We hope you can watch our Bible study. God bless you! 33:: July 30, 2023 - Sunday Worship Service

01.01.1970 · 01:00:00 ··· 31.07.2023 · 15:48:22 ··· ···
··· ··· ··· ··· In this Sunday's worship service. We focused on the word "reconciliation." We need reconciliation with God and with each other. Thankfully, Jesus offers us both through his death on the cross. We hope you can watch our service, and we pray that God's Word restores your heart and soul.

34:: Zechariah 8:1-23 – “The Restoration” – July 30, 2023

01.01.1970 · 01:00:00 ··· 31.07.2023 · 15:14:32 ··· ···
··· ··· ··· ··· “He restores my soul” (Psalm 23:3). Isn’t that what all of us need? Restoration? Restoration for our hearts. Restoration for our souls. Restoration for our lives. Sin is like a tornado that leaves a trail of destruction both inside us and outside us. Jesus came to restore our souls. In fact, the Old Testament is filled with “restoration promises.” Beautiful promises that God will restore his people. We hope you can watch Pastor Nathan's sermon on Zechariah 8: “The Restoration.” May God and his promises restore your soul!

35:: “Bible Translation”: Bible Study #1—Which Bible Is the Word of God?

01.01.1970 · 01:00:00 ··· 27.07.2023 · 20:13:53 ··· ···
··· ··· ··· ··· When it comes to the Bible, people have lots of good questions: ““Why are there so many translations of the Bible? What does it take to translate the Bible into English? Which Bible translation is really God’s Word? Can we be sure that the Bible we have is really the Word of God?” Have you ever asked one of those questions? In this new Bible study, we’re studying all sorts of questions about God’s Word and how it is translated for us today. In this first lesson, we studied how God has passed his Word down to us. While we don’t have the original manuscripts written by Moses or David or Paul, we have many ancient manuscripts that are faithful copies of the original manuscripts. In addition, we studied from the Bible how God’s Word is more than just letters and words on a page. It’s the saving message of God’s grace to us in Jesus, and that message can be translated into any language, including our English Bibles today. We hope you can watch our Bible study. God bless you! 36:: “The Holy Spirit”: Bible Study #5—Spiritual Gifts

01.01.1970 · 01:00:00 ··· 26.07.2023 · 19:02:00 ··· ···
··· ··· ··· ··· The Holy Spirit is vital to our salvation. The Bible says, “No one can say, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ except by the Holy Spirit” (1 Corinthians 12:3). It’s the Holy Spirit who creates faith in Jesus in our hearts and empowers our lives as Christians. We need the Holy Spirit! In this fifth and final lesson of our “Holy Spirit” Bible study, we studied what the Bible says about spiritual gifts. Not only has the Holy Spirit given us faith in Jesus, he has also gifted every single one of us with our unique spiritual gifts. No two people are the same, and that’s the good thing! God wants us to recognize the gifts and talents he has given to each one of us and use them for the glory of God and the benefit of other people. Do you know what your spiritual gifts are? Do you need encouragement to put your spiritual gifts to work? We hope you can watch our Bible study. God bless you! 37:: “The Holy Spirit”: Bible Study #4—Why Do We Need Him?

01.01.1970 · 01:00:00 ··· 26.07.2023 · 15:47:04 ··· ···
··· ··· ··· ··· The Holy Spirit is vital to our salvation. The Bible says, “No one can say, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ except by the Holy Spirit” (1 Corinthians 12:3). It’s the Holy Spirit who creates faith in Jesus in our hearts and empowers our lives as Christians. We need the Holy Spirit! In this fourth lesson of our “Holy Spirit” Bible study, we studied why every single one of us needs the Holy Spirit. According to 1 Corinthians, God’s message isn’t something any of us could have thought up on our own. In fact, God’s message in the Bible sounds like foolishness to our human minds. We need the Holy Spirit to convince us of God’s truth and create faith in Jesus in our hearts. We hope you can watch this Bible study about the Holy Spirit’s important work in us! 38:: July 23, 2023 - Sunday Worship Service

01.01.1970 · 01:00:00 ··· 25.07.2023 · 21:30:51 ··· ···
··· ··· ··· ··· In this Sunday's worship service, we heard what the Bible says about food. Food is a blessing from God, but what we eat or drink isn't what brings us close to God. Jesus does! We hope you can watch our worship service. God bless you!

39:: Zechariah 7:1-14 – “Mercy over Fasting” – July 23, 2023

01.01.1970 · 01:00:00 ··· 25.07.2023 · 20:27:19 ··· ···
··· ··· ··· ··· Does the food we eat impact our relationship with God? That’s a question that believers in God have asked over and over again. Do we need to fast (not eat for periods of time)? In the Old Testament, God gave his people a powerful answer: “This is what the Lord Almighty said: ‘Administer true justice; show mercy and compassion to one another. Do not oppress the widow or the fatherless, the foreigner or the poor. Do not plot evil against each other’” (Zechariah 7:9-10). God wants his people to focus on mercy and compassion toward other people, not on fasting. Isn’t that what Jesus himself did when he came to save us? We hope you can watch Pastor Nathan's sermon: “Mercy over Fasting.” God bless you!

40:: July 9, 2023 - Sunday Worship Service

01.01.1970 · 01:00:00 ··· 10.07.2023 · 20:29:11 ··· ···
··· ··· ··· ··· In this week's worship service, we focused on God's words to the prophet Zechariah: "Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit, says the LORD Almighty" (Zechariah 4:6). Everything in life depends completely on God's power, not ours. We hope you can watch our worship service. God bless you!

41:: Zechariah 4:1-14 – “The Day of Small Things” – July 9, 2023

01.01.1970 · 01:00:00 ··· 10.07.2023 · 18:07:37 ··· ···
··· ··· ··· ··· Our God is so big that he loves to make himself small for us. Like a baby in a manger. What’s smaller than a baby in a manger? Yet, that’s how God become one of us. Our God is so big that he loves to make himself small for us. Like at the cross. What’s more insignificant than a man being executed? Yet, that’s how God saved us. I know it might not look like God is doing anything in your life right now, but do you think God could be doing something that you can’t see? I’m sure he is! God is working in you in ways that you never could have expected. We hope you can watch Pastor Nathan's sermon: “The Day of Small Things.” Remember God’s promise: “Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit” (Zechariah 4:14). God bless you!

42:: “Free Will” Bible Study #2

01.01.1970 · 01:00:00 ··· 16.06.2023 · 19:55:15 ··· ···
··· ··· ··· ··· “Free will” is a much debated topic in Christianity. Do we human beings have “free will”? What part do we play in getting to heaven? On Wednesdays this summer, we’ll look at what the Bible says about the concept of “free will.” In this second lesson, we talked about these questions: “Is the Bible’s message clear?” “Is it important to know whether human beings have free will?” “Does God foreknow all things?” “Is God’s foreknowledge a good thing?” There is so much for us to learn from God’s Word. We hope you can watch our Bible study! Here is a link to access the handout for the Bible study: https://www.dropbox.com/s/0q1modlpt037cv1/2.%20Clarity%20and%20Foreknowledge.pdf?dl=0

43:: “The Holy Spirit”: Bible Study #2—The Holy Trinity

01.01.1970 · 01:00:00 ··· 13.06.2023 · 14:01:31 ··· ···
··· ··· ··· ··· The Holy Spirit is vital to our salvation. The Bible says, “No one can say, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ except by the Holy Spirit” (1 Corinthians 12:3). It’s the Holy Spirit who creates faith in Jesus in our hearts and empowers our lives as Christians. We need the Holy Spirit! In this second lesson of our “Holy Spirit” Bible study, we studied the Holy Trinity. While the word “Trinity” isn’t found in the Bible, the Trinity most certainly is! We saw that the concept of one God, yet three Persons, is found throughout the Bible in both the Old Testament and the New Testament. We hope you can watch out Bible study to grow in your faith in our God—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. 44:: June 11, 2023 - Sunday Worship Service

01.01.1970 · 01:00:00 ··· 12.06.2023 · 16:12:39 ··· ···
··· ··· ··· ··· This Sunday, we celebrated "Holy Trinity Sunday" at Christ the King and focused on the Bible's teaching that there is one God who is Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. As we talked about the Trinity, we especially focused on the truth that God created us and the universe. You are not here by accident. You are the creation of God! We hope you can watch our worship service. God bless you!

45:: Genesis 1:1-2:3 – “God Created” – June 11, 2023

01.01.1970 · 01:00:00 ··· 12.06.2023 · 15:02:45 ··· ···
··· ··· ··· ··· You are no accident. You are no animal. You are not worthless. You are God’s special creation, whom he formed and created and redeemed and loved. “In the beginning God created…” It’s hard to think of more important words in the world. Whether you believe those five words will impact your entire perspective on life. And then add this: “And when I think that God, his Son not sparing, sent him to die, I scarce can take it in. That on the cross my burden gladly bearing he bled and died to take away my sin.” Your Creator is your Savior. The hands that made Jupiter were pierced for me, for you, for everyone in the world. We hope you can watch Pastor Nathan's sermon about creation: “God Created.” God bless you!

46:: Revelation Bible Study #20: Revelation 22

01.01.1970 · 01:00:00 ··· 11.06.2023 · 03:50:18 ··· ···
··· ··· ··· ··· In our Wednesday evening Bible studies, we are studying the book of Revelation. We hope you can watch our study to grow in your faith in Jesus and your confidence in Jesus' victory over the forces of evil in our world. In this week’s Bible study, we finished our study of the book of Revelation by studying Revelation 22. In the very last chapter of the Bible, we hear a beautiful description of heaven and are encouraged to look forward to the day when Jesus comes to take us home. We also studied how the Bible ends with a very strong encouragement not to add or subject from the Word of God. With God’s people of all time, we say, “Come, Lord Jesus, come!” We hope you can watch our Bible study. God bless you! ··· ··· ··· ··· “Free will” is a much debated topic in Christianity. Do we human beings have “free will”? What part do we play in getting to heaven? On Wednesdays this summer, we’ll look at what the Bible says about the concept of “free will.” In this first lesson, we talked about what free will is, learned about a debate between Martin Luther and Desiderius Erasmus during the Lutheran Reformation, and studied from the Bible why it’s important for Christians to make strong assertions about the truths of the Bible. It’s the Holy Spirit who creates faith in Jesus in our hearts and empowers our lives as Christians. We need the Holy Spirit! In this first lesson of our “Holy Spirit” Bible study, we’ll studied questions like this: How can all people know there is a God? What is unique about the God of the Bible? Why do we say we believe in the Trinity? We hope you can watch our Bible study to grow in your faith in God through the Holy Spirit. 01.01.1970 · 01:00:00 ··· 07.06.2023 · 20:07:43 ··· ···
··· ··· ··· ··· In this Sunday's worship service, we celebrated Pentecost Sunday and the blessing of the Holy Spirit. We also celebrated Confirmation Sunday and the confirmation of a young lady in our congregation. May the Holy Spirit continue to grow our faith in Jesus!

50:: 1 Corinthians 12:3-11 – “By the Holy Spirit” – June 4, 2023

01.01.1970 · 01:00:00 ··· 07.06.2023 · 18:15:06 ··· ···
··· ··· ··· ··· It’s tempting for us to take credit for what God has done. To make it seem like at least part of our salvation depends on us. To make sure some of the glory goes to us for the good things in our lives. Do you know whom we’re forgetting? The Holy Spirit! The Bible says, “No one can say, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ except by the Holy Spirit” (1 Corinthians 12:3). Faith doesn’t come from our decision. It’s by the Holy Spirit. Good works don’t come from our strength. It’s by the Holy Spirit. We depend completely on the grace of God from beginning to end. It’s all by the Holy Spirit! We hope can watch Pastor Nathan's Pentecost sermon: “By the Holy Spirit.” God bless you!

51:: “Rejoice Always” Bible Study #5—Philippians 4:1-23

01.01.1970 · 01:00:00 ··· 22.05.2023 · 18:22:17 ··· ···
··· ··· ··· ··· Do you need more joy in your life? Do you struggle to find contentment? In this “Rejoice Always” Bible study, we’ll study the book of Philippians in the New Testament. Philippians is all about how to rejoice in Christ, even in the middle of life’s difficulties. God’s Word convinces us that true joy doesn’t depend on our outward circumstances. It depends on Jesus and all his blessings to us. In this fifth and final lesson, we studied Philippians chapter 4. This chapter is filled with well-known verses like, “Rejoice in the Lord always” (Philippians 4:4) and “Whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right… think about such things” (Philippians 4:8) and “I can do all this through him who gives me strength” (Philippians 4:13). 01.01.1970 · 01:00:00 ··· 22.05.2023 · 14:31:30 ··· ···
··· ··· ··· ··· We too often live our lives under the clouds. Life can seem so dark and gloomy. On Ascension Day, Jesus wants to give us a glimpse behind the clouds. God wants you to see the hand of Jesus ruling the world. God wants you to see the hand of Jesus ruling in his church. God wants you to see the hand of Jesus ruling in your life. Jesus wants us to see behind the clouds. It’s so much better! There you find the forgiveness of sins. Eternal life. Faith in Jesus. Don’t spend your time building up earthly kingdoms. Focus on spreading the kingdom of God! We hope you can watch Pastor Nathan's Ascension Day sermon: “Behind the Clouds…” God bless you!

In this fourth lesson, we studied Philippians chapter 3. Paul warns us not to put our confidence “in the flesh”—in any of our human works or characteristics. Instead, Paul found great joy in realizing that even if he lost everything, he had Jesus, and Jesus was everything he needed. In our study, we talked about all the wrong places we’re tempted to put our confidence, and we found joy just like Paul did in Jesus and his promise of what’s waiting for us in heaven. We hope you can watch our Bible study. God bless you! Here is a link to access the handout for the Bible study: https://www.dropbox.com/s/wfxxcbbk8txfjwh/4.%20Philippians%203.1-21.pdf?dl=0
