The book of Joel is one of the little books toward the end of the Old Testament. Despite its small size, it contains a message from God that’s vital for people of every age: “God’s Word for a Time of Crisis.” The book of Joel provides direction and comfort for believers in God who face crisis and calamity. Above all, it encourages God’s people to turn to God in repentance and find comfort in God’s promises.
In this tenth lesson, we studied repentance in light of Joel 2:12-17. Repentance is at the heart of Joel’s message. It’s also at the heart of God’s message to us in the Bible. In this Bible study we answered questions like: 1) What is repentance? 2) Who is repentance for? 3) When are people to repent? 4) What does the Lutheran church teach about repentance?
