The book of Joel is one of the little books toward the end of the Old Testament. Despite its small size, it contains a message from God that’s vital for people of every age: “God’s Word for a Time of Crisis.” The book of Joel provides direction and comfort for believers in God who face crisis and calamity. Above all, it encourages God’s people to turn to God in repentance and find comfort in God’s promises.
In this ninth lesson, we studied four different topics from Joel 2: 1) Who is public worship for? (Answer: All people of all ages!) 2) What is “dialectical negation,” and how does it help us understand God’s Word? (Answer: It’s a Hebrew figure of speech that we find throughout the Bible.) 3) Is the God of the Old Testament different than the God of the New Testament? (Answer: Of course not! He’s the same God of love and justice.) 4) Does God change his mind? (Answer: Watch the Bible study to find out!) There is so much for all of us to learn from God’s Word.
