The book of Joel is one of the little books toward the end of the Old Testament. Despite its small size, it contains a message from God that’s vital for people of every age: “God’s Word for a Time of Crisis.” The book of Joel provides direction and comfort for believers in God who face crisis and calamity. Above all, it encourages God’s people to turn to God in repentance and find comfort in God’s promises.
In this twelfth lesson, we continued to study what the Old Testament says about the Holy Spirit and the Trinity. We learned that even though Christians are used to going to the New Testament to learn about the Holy Spirit, the Old Testament has lots to say about the Holy Spirit too. We also discussed how some Christians today deny that the Holy Spirit and the Trinity are ever mentioned at all. It’s always tempting for us human beings to think that we can decide what God is like, instead of listening to how God describes himself in his Word. We hope you can watch our Bible study.
