Cut the butter and lard into cubes and add to the flour with a pinch of salt. * Step 2:Using your fingertips rub the butter and lard into the flour until it resembles fine breadcrumbs, (or even easier- blend it in a food processor). * Step 3:Add 3-4 tbsp ice cold water, gradually stirring it into the dough with a knife until it just sticks together. If necessary add a little more water until the dough sticks together. * Step 4:Turn the mixture out on a floured work surface and knead gently into a ball. Cover with cling film and chill in the fridge for 15 minutes if possible. This will help the pastry relax and prevent shrinkage. m * Step 5:Always roll the pastry in one direction only, turning the dough a quarter turn every couple of rolls so that it stays in shape. Roll rather than stretch the dough. Use the dough according to the recipe, and if possible allow to chill 15 minutes in the fridge before being baked. Easy spinach, leek and feta pastry tart Serves 4 Ingredients 320g wholemeal shortcrust pastry 1 tbsp olive oil  2 leeks, thinly sliced 1 garlic clove, crushed 200g spinach 50ml cream  300g feta 1 tbsp basil, torn 25g pine nuts 1 egg, beaten  50g parmesan, finely grated Sea salt and freshly ground black pepper  Green salad, to serve Method 1. Preheat the oven to 200C/gas mark 6. 2. Roll out the shortcrust pastry. Use a sharp knife to score a 2cm border around the edge of the tart, being careful not to cut all the way through. Prick the pastry that is inside the border with a fork all over - this will help stop it puffing up in the oven.  3. Place a saucepan over a medium heat and add the olive oil, then stir in the sliced leeks and garlic. Cover and cook for a few minutes until the leeks are soft, then remove the lid and stir in the spinach and the cream. Cook for a further minute, then remove from the heat and allow to cool a little. 4. Spread the leek and spinach mixture over the pastry. Sprinkle the feta evenly on top, followed by the basil and pine nuts. Season with sea salt and black pepper.  5. Brush the pastry border with the beaten egg then sprinkle the parmesan over the filling and the edges of the pastry. Place in the oven and bake for 20 minutes, until the pastry is golden and cooked through. Serve with a green salad.  OR Air Fryer Pre heat at 200C Bake the tart 20 minutes or until golden brown/media:description> media:community> media:starRating count="73" average="5.00" min="1" max="5"/> media:statistics views="666"/> /media:community> /media:group> /entry> entry> id>yt:video:G51thcpliAs/id> yt:videoId>G51thcpliAs/yt:videoId> yt:channelId>UCKydRcHz9jhu_t247j7JLUQ/yt:channelId> title>Spicy Salmon Recipe with British Couple - Sally & David Abel/title> link rel="alternate" href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G51thcpliAs"/> author> name>The REAL David Abel/name> uri>https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCKydRcHz9jhu_t247j7JLUQ/uri> /author> published>2024-04-17T18:59:18+00:00/published> updated>2024-05-29T23:04:20+00:00/updated> media:group> media:title>Spicy Salmon Recipe with British Couple - Sally & David Abel/media:title> media:content url="https://www.youtube.com/v/G51thcpliAs?version=3" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="640" height="390"/> media:thumbnail url="https://i4.ytimg.com/vi/G51thcpliAs/hqdefault.jpg" width="480" height="360"/> media:description>Spicy Salmon Recipe with British Couple - Sally & David Abel INGREDIENTS 1 tablespoon Gochujang 1 tablespoon Tomato Ketchup 1 tablespoon butter or margarine 1 tablespoon runny honey RECIPE Mix sauce ingredients over low heat (or microwave). It can be used as a condiment for grilled meats, a base for stir-fries, a flavour enhancer in soups, or a glaze for roasted vegetables. Its versatility allows you to experiment and explore various flavour combinations in your cooking. Gochujang sauce is a popular Korean condiment made from red chili peppers, fermented soybeans, glutinous rice, and salt. It offers several benefits, including: 1. Rich in Antioxidants: Gochujang sauce contains red chili peppers, which are a great source of antioxidants. These antioxidants help protect the body against free radicals, which can cause oxidative stress and damage cells. Consuming gochujang sauce can contribute to a healthier immune system and overall well-being. 2. Boosts Metabolism: The capsaicin present in red chili peppers, a key ingredient in gochujang sauce, has been shown to boost metabolism. This can aid in weight management by increasing calorie burning and fat oxidation. Adding gochujang sauce to your meals can provide a spicy kick while potentially supporting your weight loss or weight maintenance goals. 3. Enhances Digestion: Fermented soybeans and glutinous rice, two main components of gochujang sauce, undergo a fermentation process that produces beneficial bacteria. These probiotics can promote a healthy gut microbiome and improve digestion. Consuming gochujang sauce in moderation may help alleviate digestive issues and enhance nutrient absorption. 4. Adds Flavour and Depth to Dishes: Gochujang sauce is known for its unique and complex flavour profile. It offers a combination of spiciness, sweetness, and umami that can elevate the taste of various dishes. Whether used as a marinade, dipping sauce, or ingredient in soups and stir-fries, gochujang sauce can add depth and richness to your culinary creations. 5. Contains Essential Vitamins and Minerals: Gochujang sauce contains essential vitamins and minerals, including vitamin C, vitamin K, and iron. These nutrients play crucial roles in supporting immune function, blood clotting, and oxygen transport in the body. Incorporating gochujang sauce into your meals can contribute to a well-rounded and nutritious diet. 6. Promotes Heart Health: The capsaicin found in gochujang sauce has been associated with potential cardiovascular benefits. It may help lower blood pressure, reduce bad cholesterol levels, and improve blood circulation. However, it's important to note that gochujang sauce is typically consumed in small quantities, so its impact on heart health may be limited. 7. Versatile and Easy to Use: Gochujang sauce is incredibly versatile and can be used in a wide range of dishes. It can be used as a condiment for grilled meats, a base for stir-fries, a flavour enhancer in soups, or a glaze for roasted vegetables. Its versatility allows you to experiment and explore various flavour combinations in your cooking. Remember, while gochujang sauce offers several benefits, it should be consumed in moderation due to its spiciness and sodium content. It's always a good idea to read the label and choose brands with minimal additives or preservatives. Enjoy the unique flavour and benefits of gochujang sauce in your meals! These three ingredients (plus spices) creates a base to start the chunky sauce. * Spices: coriander, cumin, paprika-- a trio of warm North African flavours. If you like spicy shakshuka add a pinch of red pepper flakes or cayenne pepper. * Tomatoes: In this recipe, I use 14 ounce (200gram) can of chopped tomatoes with their juices. * Eggs: 2 large raw eggs * Garnish: This is totally optional, but for me a handful of fresh chopped parsley and mint just before serving adds freshness and a pop of colour. And if you love your shakshuka with feta, then add a sprinkle of creamy feta cheese just before serving. RECIPE Make the shakshuka tomato sauce. Start by sauteing chopped onions, bell peppers, and garlic with a little bit of extra virgin olive oil in a large, heavy skillet or pan (with a lid). Season with kosher salt and coriander, paprika, cumin, and crushed pepper flakes. Cook for at least 5 minutes, stirring, until the veggies are tender, Then add the tomatoes.Bring the tomatoes to the boil, then cover and let simmer for about 15 minutes, then uncover and cook a few more minutes until your sauce has thickened. Add the eggs and cook. When the sauce is ready, use the back of a spoon and make some holes in the sauce. Crack your eggs and nestle each egg in one of the holes you created. Cover the skillet and allow the eggs to simmer in the sauce over medium-low heat until the egg whites have settled (as I said earlier, the eggs are supposed to be soft and somewhat runny. If you like your eggs hard, you can let them cook a bit longer). Serve immediately! Once the eggs are ready, garnish with parsley and serve immediately! In this mouthwatering video, I will show you step by step how to make the most delicious shakshuka at home. Shakshuka is a popular Middle Eastern and North African dish made with poached eggs in a spicy tomato and pepper sauce, perfect for breakfast, brunch, or even dinner. Follow along as I guide you through the process of sautéing onions, peppers, and tomatoes, adding flavourful spices like cumin and paprika, and finally cracking the eggs into the simmering sauce to create a rich and satisfying meal. Whether you're a seasoned chef or a beginner in the kitchen, you'll love how easy and rewarding it is to make your own shakshuka. Don't forget to subscribe to my channel for more delicious recipes and cooking tutorials. And if you try this recipe, be sure to tag us on social media so we can see your beautiful creations. Enjoy! Whilst I can't provide specific health advice, I can certainly highlight the potential benefits based on its common ingredients. Shakshuka typically consists of poached eggs in a sauce of tomatoes, bell peppers, onions, and various spices. Video 5 Featuring David Abel And Beetroot! Discover how juicing can transform your health as a diabetic. Learn how to lower blood sugar, blood pressure, and lose weight by juicing veggies with David Abel. A completely natural way to improve your health. When preparing diabetic-friendly juices, it's important to focus on the overall balance of nutrients and portion sizes. Aim to include a variety of vegetables, and consider adding a source of protein or healthy fat to help stabilise blood sugar levels. Consulting with a healthcare professional or registered dietitian can provide you with personalised guidance and recommendations based on your specific needs and health goals. Remember, it's essential to monitor your blood sugar levels and consult with a healthcare professional or registered dietitian for personalised guidance when incorporating these vegetables into your diabetic-friendly juices. * One final important note: some people with certain medical conditions should not have green juice, and some may not tolerate it as well. Please check with your doctor, if you are unsure about trying green juice. JUICING RECIPE - BEETROOT with Apple, Cucumber, Carrot, ginger, lemon Ingredients: 1 small Apple (green) 1/2 Cucumber chopped 2 small Beet, raw and peeled 1 large or 2 small Carrots, chopped 1/2 small Lemon or Lime (approx. 1 tablespoon Lemon Juice) 1 inch piece of Ginger Make ABC juice. Process all the ingredients through a juicer. Discard the pulp. Add 1/2 cup water to the prepared juice if you prefer the diluted juice. Parsley, apple, ginger, and lemon are all great foods full of nutrition. I’ve included cucumber in this beetroot juice recipe to help dilute the strong beet flavour, and to add a neutral balancing effect to the overall juice. Raw beets are the base of this beet juice. Beets are at the top of my list of the best vegetables to juice. Apple adds a sweet note to the beetroot juice and helps mask any of the “earthy” flavour from the beets. Cucumber helps add more liquid to the juice overall. You can use whatever type of cucumber you can find in the market. Lemon or lime helps adds a bright flavour to the juice, plus vitamin C to help the immune system. Peel your citrus fruit before juicing them. Fresh ginger adds a spicy flavour to the juice, plus it has anti-inflammatory benefits. Parsley is a great ingredient to include. It is a great source of antioxidants. I recommend using flat-leaf parsley. JUICING RECIPE - GREEN JUICE with CABBAGE 1 cucumber unpeeled 1 apple 5 celery stalks 1” ginger unpeeled 1/2 lemon 1 large cabbage leaf Cabbage juice, along with other green juices, can offer several health benefits. Juicing is a great way to get a high dose of nutrients and antioxidants in an easy-to-consume form. However, individuals with IBS and those taking certain medications (specially blood thinning meds) should check with their healthcare provider before incorporating cabbage juice into their diets. If you choose to drink cabbage juice, do so in moderation. Because plain cabbage juice has a very strong bitter taste, consider combining it with other juices, such as apple or carrot, to reduce the bitterness and make it more palatable. Remember - Cabbage juice is a healthy choice. But if you have IBS or are taking blood-thinning medication, check with your healthcare provider before including it in your regimen. I like adding cucumber because it really does provide ample liquid to help this juice, and I love the refreshing flavour. - Lemon: Half a large peeled lemon or one whole peeled small lemon. - Kale: Any variety of kale will work. I used about 5 leaves - Ginger: about 1 inch of fresh ginger. 6:: Delicious Spinach, Leek, And Feta Tart With Wholemeal Shortcrust Pastry

01.01.1970 01:00:00 24.04.2024 21:12:22
Pastry 300g Plain wholemeal flour 75g Butter (unsalted) (cold) 75g Lard (cold) 1pinch Salt 4 tbsp Water (ice cold) * Step 1:Place the flour in a mixing bowl. OR Air Fryer Pre heat at 200C Bake the tart 20 minutes or until golden brown

This can aid in weight management by increasing calorie burning and fat oxidation. Adding gochujang sauce to your meals can provide a spicy kick while potentially supporting your weight loss or weight maintenance goals. 3. Shakshuka Simplified for Diabetics: Ingredients: what you'll need to make shakshuka (for 1 person) * Extra virgin olive oil * Vegetables: 1/2 large chopped onion, 1/2 bell pepper, and 1 minced garlic cloves. 11:: Boost Your Health With Diabetic-friendly Beetroot Juice For A Vibrant Life!

01.01.1970 01:00:00 04.04.2024 20:03:29
Boost Your Health With Diabetic-friendly Beetroot Juice For A Vibrant Life! If you subscribe to the channel and press 'the bell' you will be notified ever time we go live.

Please check with your doctor, if you are unsure about trying green juice. In this video, we'll be covering everything from selecting the right cut of meat to preparing and seasoning it, and finally, cooking it to perfection on a Ninja Woodfire Grill. So, let's get started! When it comes to roasting a gammon joint, selecting the right cut of meat is essential. Look for a joint that has a good amount of fat running through it, as this will help to keep the meat moist during cooking. You can also choose between smoked and unsmoked gammon, depending on your preference. Today this is unsmoked. Before cooking, it's important to prepare the gammon joint properly. Start by removing any excess fat or skin from the joint. You can also score the skin to allow the fat to render out during cooking. Rub mustard into the gammon and then pat the dry rub seasoning on top of the mustard. Details of the easy home made seasoning are below. The Ninja Woodfire Grill is the perfect tool for roasting a gammon joint to perfection. Simply select ROAST at 180C / 350F and place the gammon joint in the air fryer basket. Cook until the internal temperature reaches 70C / 160F Once the gammon joint is cooked to perfection, it's important to let it rest for at least 10 minutes before carving. This allows the juices to redistribute throughout the meat, resulting in a more flavourful and tender roast. When carving, slice against the grain for maximum tenderness. And there you have it, our ultimate guide to roasting a gammon joint on a Ninja Woodfire Grill. By following these simple steps, you'll be able to impress your friends and family with perfectly roasted gammon every time. So, fire up that grill and get cooking! 22:: How You Can Grill A Perfect Steak Every Time | Ninja Woodfire Outside Grill

01.01.1970 01:00:00 27.05.2023 14:39:16
How You Can grill A Perfect Steak Every Time | Ninja Woodfire Grill In this video you will see how easy it is to use a Ninja Woodfire Outside Grill. It's a choice steak with some pretty good marbling on it but it’s a little wet because I just took it out of the refrigerator. Anytime you are wanting to get a good sear on meat, moisture on the meat is your big enemy. So we are going to pat this dry before we apply our seasoning. The reason for this is because if there's moisture on the outside of the steak the only thing that's going to happen when you put it on your hot Grill is it's going to sizzle - and that steams the moisture away - instead of creating your wonderful crust that you're wanting - so we are going to get this really dry. Our wood fire grill is set to 120C.  We're going to go with a SMOKE and we’re going to smoke it at this low temperature until it comes up to about 54C (128F) - then we'll let it rest until it hits 57C (135F).   That should have it cooked perfectly nice medium. Then we're going to sear it on the GRILL setting (HI) – to get a nice crust. Let’s season this steak up. We're going to keep it simple we’re going to go with some salt, some black pepper and some garlic powder and onion powder. Don't forget the sides and the edges press it in there a little. I am actually using my digital wireless thermometer. The New York Strip is now added to the grill with the lid closed. Are you ready?  The magic is about to happen. We'll set up our SMOKER setting. We’re going to fill the basket with hickory pellets, then hit that wood fire flavour button and START. We’re going to set it to 120C degrees for 60 minutes. We are not cooking by time – we are going by internal temperature. When we reach half way to cook time on the thermometer we shall FLIP the New York Strips. We’re going to pull the New York Strip at about 54C (128F). If you guys are interested to see more stuff that we do with the wood fire grill make sure you are subscribed and have your notifications on because with your help I might reach 100,00 subscribers one day. 25:: How to Appeal a Denied ESTA Application for US Travel

01.01.1970 01:00:00 22.05.2023 20:02:08
How to Appeal a Denied ESTA Application for US Travel. If you're planning to travel to the United States, you may need to apply for an Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA) before your trip.  However, sometimes the US border control may deny your ESTA application, which can be frustrating and stressful. Should this happen, without warning you receive the message ‘Travel Not Authorized’.   This video is made from personal experience when my wife was denied her ESTA - but I was approved. We had a rather expensive cruise booked - from UK to Canada and USA and return. – ESTA denial resulted in us having to cancel the vacation. I chose to appeal the decision, and won the appeal (at no further cost).   US Customs suggested it might be possible to obtain a visa.- For my wife this would involve a personal visit to the American Embassy in London - An expensive non-refundable application fee - The expense of travelling to London (we live in the middle of England) - a 3 month wait for the interview - it was suggested we could fly to Belfast, Ireland and have our interview at the American office there … but there was a similar waiting list to obtain an appointment.   It would therefore be impossible for us to enjoy the vacation we had booked and paid.   In this video, I'll guide you through the process of appealing a denied ESTA application, so you can still have a chance to travel to the US.   I'll cover the following topics: - Reasons why your ESTA application may be denied - How to check the status of your ESTA application - How to file an appeal for a denied ESTA application - What documents and information you need to provide for the appeal - How long the appeal process may take and what to expect - Tips for increasing your chances of a successful appeal   So don’t let a denied ESTA application ruin your travel plans! Watch this video and learn how to appeal the decision and get approved for your US trip.   1. Understand the reasons for the denial The first step in appealing a denied ESTA application is to understand why it was denied in the first place. Some common reasons for denial include providing incorrect or incomplete information, having a criminal record, or being deemed a security risk. Once you know the reason for the denial, you can address it in your appeal.   2. Check the status of your ESTA application Before you can appeal a denied ESTA application, you need to make sure that it has actually been denied. You can check the status of your application on the official ESTA website using your application number and passport information.   3. File an appeal for a denied ESTA application To file an appeal for a denied ESTA application, you need to submit a ‘Traveler Redress Inquiry application’. Follow the instructions on the screen and an account will be opened in your name. You will also receive a Case Number.   4. Provide supporting documents and information In your appeal, you should provide any requested supporting documents or information that may help your case. This could include proof of your travel plans, evidence of your ties to your home country, or character references. Make sure to follow the instructions for submitting supporting documents carefully.   5. Wait for a decision The appeal process for a denied ESTA application can take several weeks, so be patient. You can check the status of your appeal on the official ESTA website using your application number and passport information. If your appeal is approved, you will receive confirmation from TRIP suggesting you apply for a new ESTA authorization. Frustratingly you will never be informed why your ESTA was denied. If it is denied again, you may need to consider other options for your travel plans.   6. Appealing a denied ESTA application can be a complex and time-consuming process, but it is possible. I know from first hand experience. By understanding the reasons for the denial, providing updated and corrected information, and submitting supporting documents, you can increase your chances of a successful appeal and still have a chance to travel to the US. My final piece of advice would be to always remain calm and always be polite in your communications with US officials.
