It seems Ford is showing no let-up in its motorsport ambitions for the foreseeable future. The latest generation S650 Mustang has already seen a plethora of racing car models announced – including an Australian V8 Supercar, NHRA Factory-X drag car, NASCAR, and FIA GT4 and GT3 variants. While not strictly racing cars, the Dark Horse S and R models are ‘track-only’ with the R supposedly homologated for racing, although Ford hasn’t said for which series as of yet. Ford has already upped the hype with its latest post on Meta's Threads. Many of the details surrounding the Dark Horse S and R were already revealed back in September 2022 by Ford Performance Motorsports global director Mark Rushbrook. Mark says that both Dark Horse track specials will retain the factory fourth-generation Coyote V8 engine, with power set to be around 500 hp and 418 lb-ft of torque. On the chassis side, Ford has worked with Canadian racing outfit Multimatic – which previously helped develop and run the Ford GT GTE program in the World Endurance Championship as well as helping develop the 2024 GT3 and GT4 race cars.With non-essential interior components removed and a range of track-focused upgrades, the Ford Mustang Dark Horse R seems as close as one can get to purchasing a stock car racer off the factory floor for the price of $145,000. The 12-mile track is a three-sided layout that uses banked corners, so he got up to speed on one of the long, back straight stretches. In the hypercar arms race, and the battle between internal combustion and batteries, production cars are reaching speeds beyond what we previously thought possible. However, rather than increasing exponentially in line with Moore's Law, speed gets harder to come by as we approach the upper limits of the automobile’s fundamental design. This game was revealed back in 2020 before the Xbox Series X and S were even released. This a Series X/S and PC exclusive, Turn 10 is closer to maxing out gen 9 graphical fidelity at 4K/60fps. Reflections. Shadows. Rain. This game’s a looker. HDR wasn’t running on the demo, so the final product should look sexier. Physics are supposed to have leveled up as well. Tires no longer have 1 single point of contact, but 8, and 48x more fidelity. The suspension code - Weight and aero modeling: all new! The end result should be more realistic handling car-to-car. We’re also supposed to get better AI that won’t “cheat” or “be cheap” - we’ll see how it plays October 10th - personally I’d like to play it on a Le Mans livery XBox.
