However, this story is hard to ignore – a brand-new 2023 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Jailbreak muscle car that blew up after only 800 miles, and with the only modification being a minor, common, non-engine-related customization to the end of the exhaust to make the car sound louder.
When the owner’s car had ‘grenaded’, Dodge checked over the machine and refused to repair the Hellcat engine under warranty, leaving a $36,000 bill to add to the already-considerable cost of the Challenger.
