Christopher Walker: An internationally known lecturer and choral conductor, Christopher Walker is also one of the Church’s most prolific and versatile composers. Born and educated in England, he earned his degree in music from Bristol University. He was the first director of music for 18 years at Clifton Cathedral in Bristol, opened in 1973. He has appeared on BBC T.V. and radio and his music is frequently broadcast.

This lovely little children’s tune, though simple and straightforward, nevertheless conveys a strong message of Jesus’s love. Franciso Palazón nació en 1935 en Madrid, donde realiza sus primeros estudios musicales en la Escuela Superior de Música Sagrada, donde estudia Polifonía clásica con el P. Samuel Rubio y se diploma en Canto gregoriano. Fue profesor y director de la Schola Cantorum en el Seminario Conciliar de Madrid.
Franciso Palazón was born in 1935 in Madrid, where he made his first musical studies at the Escuela Superior de Música Sagrada, where he studied classical polyphony with Fr.Samuel Rubio and received a diploma in Gregorian chant. He was professor and director of the Schola Cantorum at the Madrid Council Seminary.

Padre James ("Jimmy") V. Marchionda, O.P., es un sacerdote dominicano, predicador, compositor, director de orquesta, cantante, orador e instrumentista de viento (clarinete y saxofón). Ofrece misiones parroquiales (incluso aquí en 2011) y talleres, conferencias y conciertos en los Estados Unidos y en el extranjero. Miembro de la Provincia Dominicana de San Alberto Magno en Chicago, sirvió nueve años como Vicario Provincial y actualmente es Prior Provincial de la Provincia Dominicana de San Alberto Magno (de la cual nuestra parroquia forma parte).
Padre Marchionda es compositora de más de 100 composiciones de música sacra, que incluyen "Una bendición dominicana", "Aleluya festiva" y una versión de "Que los ángeles te guíen" que quizás hayas escuchado en los funerales en St. Albert's.
Fr. James ("Jimmy") V. Marchionda, O.P., is a Dominican priest, preacher, composer, conductor, singer, speaker and woodwind instrumentalist (clarinet and saxophone.) He offers parish missions (including here in 2011) and workshops, lectures and concerts throughout the United States and abroad. A member of the Chicago Dominican Province of St. Albert the Great, he served nine years as Vicar Provincial and is presently Prior Provincial of the Dominican Province of St. Albert the Great (of which our parish is a part.)
Fr. Marchionda is composer of over 100 sacred music compositions, including "A Dominican Blessing," "A Festive Alleluia" and a version of "May the Angels Lead You" which you may have heard at funerals at St. Albert's.

EMILIO VICENTE MATÉU: Nació en Molina de Segura (Murcia), España, residente en las Islas Canarias desde hace más de tres décadas. Sus inicios como compositor y letrista enraízan con los movimientos de renovación litúrgica que surgen en la España posconciliar y que, probablemente, constituyen una de las páginas más ricas y vitalistas en la historia reciente de la Iglesia. Autor de obras como: "Cantamos nuestra Fe", "Un pueblo que camina", "Madre del pueblo", "Vendrá la libertad", "Sacramentos", "Creemos en el amor" y "Jesucristo es Señor". Actualmente es catedrático en la especialidad de Música y ha dirigido durante muchos años centros docentes privados y públicos. Ejerce como Inspector Educativo de la Comunidad Autónoma de Canarias.

John Francis Wade (1 de enero de 1711 - 16 de agosto de 1786) fue un himnista inglés al que a veces se le atribuye la escritura y composición del himno "Adeste Fideles" (que luego se tradujo como "O Come All Ye Faithful"), aunque la autoría real del himno sigue siendo incierto. Todas las primeras copias del himno llevan su firma. [1]
Nacido en Douai, Flandes, Francia, Wade huyó a Francia después de que el levantamiento jacobita de 1745 fuera aplastado. Como laico católico, vivió con católicos ingleses exiliados en Francia, donde enseñó música y trabajó en música religiosa para uso privado.
John Francis Wade (1 January 1711 – 16 August 1786) was an English hymnist who is sometimes credited with writing and composing the hymn "Adeste Fideles" (which was later translated to "O Come All Ye Faithful"), even though the actual authorship of the hymn remains uncertain. The earliest copies of the hymn all bear his signature.[1]
Born in Douai, Flanders, France, Wade fled to France after the Jacobite rising of 1745 was crushed. As a Catholic layman, he lived with exiled English Catholics in France, where he taught music and worked on church music for private use.

Born in 1919, David Willcocks began his musical career as a chorister at Westminster Abbey, later winning scholarships to Clifton College and King's College, Cambridge. Following war service, he was elected Fellow of King's College, and later became Organist of Salisbury and Worcester Cathedrals, conducting the Three Choirs Festival whilst at Worcester.

📜No se puede tapar el cielo con un dedo ni tampoco juzgar sin saber. No sabía lo del Padre Gabarain hasta ayer que me lo comentaron en la parroquia. Que pena, que tristeza… Oramos por todas las víctimas de abusos. Oramos también por el alma del Padre Gabarain. Owen Alstott
"a prolific composer with a special mastery of sung texts for liturgy. Born and raised in Oregon, he attended high school seminary and the novitiate at Mt. Angel Abbey, a Benedictine monastery in the Willamette Valley. He graduated from college at Mt. Angel with a BA in philosophy and from the School of Theology in 1974. He also attended Willamette University for advanced studies in pipe organ and Marylhurst University where he worked toward a degree in music. Owen served OCP 1976–1992 as music editor, editor of missal and music publications and eventually as publisher. In 1992, he moved to London, England, where he founded a company that publishes and distributes religious education materials.
A gifted song text writer, Owen is a master of adapting, translating and setting texts to music for assemblies and choirs to sing at Mass. He is the composer of the popular Heritage Mass, as well as the chant-style responsorial psalms and Gospel acclamations in Respond & Acclaim, used by more than 10,000 Catholic parishes across the US. He is also the composer of beloved hymns such as “Come, O Holy Spirit,” “Gather Us Together,” “O Holy Mary” and “Wood of the Cross.”
Currently Owen lives in London with his wife, British composer Bernadette Farrell, and their daughter. He was appointed to the OCP Board of Directors in 2015."

Owen Alstott
"a prolific composer with a special mastery of sung texts for liturgy. Born and raised in Oregon, he attended high school seminary and the novitiate at Mt. Angel Abbey, a Benedictine monastery in the Willamette Valley. He graduated from college at Mt. Angel with a BA in philosophy and from the School of Theology in 1974. He also attended Willamette University for advanced studies in pipe organ and Marylhurst University where he worked toward a degree in music. Owen served OCP 1976–1992 as music editor, editor of missal and music publications and eventually as publisher. In 1992, he moved to London, England, where he founded a company that publishes and distributes religious education materials.
A gifted song text writer, Owen is a master of adapting, translating and setting texts to music for assemblies and choirs to sing at Mass. He is the composer of the popular Heritage Mass, as well as the chant-style responsorial psalms and Gospel acclamations in Respond & Acclaim, used by more than 10,000 Catholic parishes across the US. He is also the composer of beloved hymns such as “Come, O Holy Spirit,” “Gather Us Together,” “O Holy Mary” and “Wood of the Cross.”
Currently Owen lives in London with his wife, British composer Bernadette Farrell, and their daughter. He was appointed to the OCP Board of Directors in 2015."

El padre se siente satisfecho recogiendo los frutos de su trabajo. El salmo nos permite descubrir la riqueza interior de un fiel israelita que sabe disfrutar de los sencillos goces de la vida familiar.

📜No se puede tapar el cielo con un dedo ni tampoco juzgar sin saber. No sabía lo del Padre Gabarain hasta ayer que me lo comentaron en la parroquia. Que pena, que tristeza… Oramos por todas las víctimas de abusos. Oramos también por el alma del Padre Gabarain. No sabemos mucho de su vida pero solo lo conocemos a través de las canciones litúrgicas que el compuso. OCP el agente en los estados unidos ha decidido sacar todas la partituras compuesta por el hasta la arquidiócesis de Madrid termine su investigación.

Franciso Palazón nació en 1935 en Madrid, donde realiza sus primeros estudios musicales en la Escuela Superior de Música Sagrada, donde estudia Polifonía clásica con el P. Samuel Rubio y se diploma en Canto gregoriano. Fue profesor y director de la Schola Cantorum en el Seminario Conciliar de Madrid.

Owen Alstott
"a prolific composer with a special mastery of sung texts for liturgy. Born and raised in Oregon, he attended high school seminary and the novitiate at Mt. Angel Abbey, a Benedictine monastery in the Willamette Valley. He graduated from college at Mt. Angel with a BA in philosophy and from the School of Theology in 1974. He also attended Willamette University for advanced studies in pipe organ and Marylhurst University where he worked toward a degree in music. Owen served OCP 1976–1992 as music editor, editor of missal and music publications and eventually as publisher. In 1992, he moved to London, England, where he founded a company that publishes and distributes religious education materials.
A gifted song text writer, Owen is a master of adapting, translating and setting texts to music for assemblies and choirs to sing at Mass. He is the composer of the popular Heritage Mass, as well as the chant-style responsorial psalms and Gospel acclamations in Respond & Acclaim, used by more than 10,000 Catholic parishes across the US. He is also the composer of beloved hymns such as “Come, O Holy Spirit,” “Gather Us Together,” “O Holy Mary” and “Wood of the Cross.”
Currently Owen lives in London with his wife, British composer Bernadette Farrell, and their daughter. He was appointed to the OCP Board of Directors in 2015."

Mary Frances Reza es una de las compositoras hispanas más reconocidas y respetadas de los Estados Unidos. Durante muchos años ha servido a la Arquidiócesis de Santa Fe, Nuevo México, como músico pastoral, liturgista y maestra, además de su labor en el ministerio hispano. Fue directora de la Oficina del Culto Divino y Música Litúrgica (Office of Worship and Liturgical Music), y sigue sirviendo a la arquidiócesis como consultora de la comisión litúrgica. Ella estudió en el ITESO, la Universidad Jesuita de Guadalajara, México, obtuvo su título universitario en música de la Universidad de Albuquerque, y tiene una maestría en educación de la Universidad de Nuevo México.

Que pena, que tristeza… Oramos por todas las víctimas de abusos. Oramos también por el alma del Padre Gabarain. Owen Alstott
"a prolific composer with a special mastery of sung texts for liturgy. Born and raised in Oregon, he attended high school seminary and the novitiate at Mt. Angel Abbey, a Benedictine monastery in the Willamette Valley. He graduated from college at Mt. Angel with a BA in philosophy and from the School of Theology in 1974. He also attended Willamette University for advanced studies in pipe organ and Marylhurst University where he worked toward a degree in music. Owen served OCP 1976–1992 as music editor, editor of missal and music publications and eventually as publisher. In 1992, he moved to London, England, where he founded a company that publishes and distributes religious education materials.
A gifted song text writer, Owen is a master of adapting, translating and setting texts to music for assemblies and choirs to sing at Mass. He is the composer of the popular Heritage Mass, as well as the chant-style responsorial psalms and Gospel acclamations in Respond & Acclaim, used by more than 10,000 Catholic parishes across the US. He is also the composer of beloved hymns such as “Come, O Holy Spirit,” “Gather Us Together,” “O Holy Mary” and “Wood of the Cross.”
Currently Owen lives in London with his wife, British composer Bernadette Farrell, and their daughter. He was appointed to the OCP Board of Directors in 2015."

📜No se puede tapar el cielo con un dedo ni tampoco juzgar sin saber. No sabía lo del Padre Gabarain hasta ayer que me lo comentaron en la parroquia. Que pena, que tristeza… Oramos por todas las víctimas de abusos. Oramos también por el alma del Padre Gabarain. No sabemos mucho de su vida pero solo lo conocemos a través de las canciones litúrgicas que el compuso. OCP el agente en los estados unidos ha decidido sacar todas la partituras compuesta por el hasta la arquidiócesis de Madrid termine su investigación.

Owen Alstott
"a prolific composer with a special mastery of sung texts for liturgy. Born and raised in Oregon, he attended high school seminary and the novitiate at Mt. Angel Abbey, a Benedictine monastery in the Willamette Valley. He graduated from college at Mt. Angel with a BA in philosophy and from the School of Theology in 1974. He also attended Willamette University for advanced studies in pipe organ and Marylhurst University where he worked toward a degree in music. Owen served OCP 1976–1992 as music editor, editor of missal and music publications and eventually as publisher. In 1992, he moved to London, England, where he founded a company that publishes and distributes religious education materials.
A gifted song text writer, Owen is a master of adapting, translating and setting texts to music for assemblies and choirs to sing at Mass. He is the composer of the popular Heritage Mass, as well as the chant-style responsorial psalms and Gospel acclamations in Respond & Acclaim, used by more than 10,000 Catholic parishes across the US. He is also the composer of beloved hymns such as “Come, O Holy Spirit,” “Gather Us Together,” “O Holy Mary” and “Wood of the Cross.”
Currently Owen lives in London with his wife, British composer Bernadette Farrell, and their daughter. He was appointed to the OCP Board of Directors in 2015."
