John Francis Wade (1 de enero de 1711 - 16 de agosto de 1786) fue un himnista inglés al que a veces se le atribuye la escritura y composición del himno "Adeste Fideles" (que luego se tradujo como "O Come All Ye Faithful"), aunque la autoría real del himno sigue siendo incierto. Todas las primeras copias del himno llevan su firma. [1]
Nacido en Douai, Flandes, Francia, Wade huyó a Francia después de que el levantamiento jacobita de 1745 fuera aplastado. Como laico católico, vivió con católicos ingleses exiliados en Francia, donde enseñó música y trabajó en música religiosa para uso privado.
John Francis Wade (1 January 1711 – 16 August 1786) was an English hymnist who is sometimes credited with writing and composing the hymn "Adeste Fideles" (which was later translated to "O Come All Ye Faithful"), even though the actual authorship of the hymn remains uncertain. The earliest copies of the hymn all bear his signature.[1]
Born in Douai, Flanders, France, Wade fled to France after the Jacobite rising of 1745 was crushed. As a Catholic layman, he lived with exiled English Catholics in France, where he taught music and worked on church music for private use.

David Willcocks (1919-2015)
Born in 1919, David Willcocks began his musical career as a chorister at Westminster Abbey, later winning scholarships to Clifton College and King's College, Cambridge. Following war service, he was elected Fellow of King's College, and later became Organist of Salisbury and Worcester Cathedrals, conducting the Three Choirs Festival whilst at Worcester.
