At the far end of Austria near the czech boarder one of the most special places on earth can be found. At this focal point the moral challenges of our civilisation collide: guilt, responsibility and compensation.
In an abandoned safari park, hermetically sealed off from the rest of the world live fourty chimpanzees formerly used in pharmaceutical experiments. Infected with HIV and hepatitis viruses. Traumatized, deranged and highly aggressive. They hate humans and have every reason to.
They are accompanied by four caretakers, two of which used to be their jailors at the lab. Today they manage the unique rehabilitation project, aiming to get the chimps out of their lifelong isolation into species appropriate groups.

In an abandoned safari park, hermetically sealed off from the rest of the world live fourty chimpanzees formerly used in pharmaceutical experiments. Infected with HIV and hepatitis viruses. Traumatized, deranged and highly aggressive. They hate humans and have every reason to.
They are accompanied by four caretakers, two of which used to be their jailors at the lab. Today they manage the unique rehabilitation project, aiming to get the chimps out of their lifelong isolation into species appropriate groups.
Am äußersten Ende Österreichs, direkt an der tschechischen Grenze befindet sich einer der besonderen Orte dieser Welt. Wie unter einem Brennglas treffen sich hier die moralischen Herausforderungen unserer Zivilisation: Schuld, Verantwortung und Wiedergutmachung.
In einem verwilderten, stillgelegten Safaripark, hermetisch von der übrigen Welt abgeschottet, leben 40 Schimpansen aus dem ehemaligen Versuchslabor des Pharmakonzerns Immuno. Für die Zentralbank Belgiens zeichnete er für die Einführung des Konvergenzmechanismus für die einzelnen europäischen Währungssysteme (ECU) verantwortlich. Nach einer Zeit als Präsident des elektronischen Zahlungssystems in Belgien war er Mitbegründer und Generalmanager des erfolgreichen Hedgefonds Gaia Hedge II und Dozent für nachhaltiges Wirtschaften am Institute for Sustainable Resources in Berkley. Seine Beratungserfahrungen auf vier Kontinenten reichen von multinationalen Konzernen bis hin zu Entwicklungsländern.
Der Autor von „Mysterium Geld und „Das Geld der Zukunft geleitet uns durch unsere Expedition. Mit bildgewaltigen Parabeln und hintersinnigen Anekdoten befindet er sich auf einer Mission: eine europäischen Währungsalternative.

Es ist schon unglaublich wie genau Curd Jürgens hier die Hybris der Börsianer auf den Punkt bringt. Im Dokumentarspiel "Der Schwarze Freitag" von 1966 nimmt August Everding in Rückschau die Vorgänge, die zur Weltwirtschaftskrise 1929 geführt haben, unter die Lupe. Man kann sich des Eindrucks nicht erwehren, es handele sich um ein visionäres Werk über 2008, so gleichen sich die Floskeln.
