Ron and Boomer Watching I'm A Dog On Taboo USA

boomermutt Here's a video from the night Ron and me watched the Taboo USA 'Secret Identities' show that we were in. I went over to his house to watch the first airing on June 4, 2013. Ron is the friend in the show, and he knows my Doggishness well, and was the first person to make a connection to Furry people on the net.
One day in 1997 I was at Ron's house helping him to put up a radio antenna on his house. In thanks he took me to an art exhibit by Albert Ducros, who painted anthropomorphic Dog people.
After the exhibit, Ron asked me what it was all about and as I was barking about liking that sort of thing, Dog-Human mixes, he mentioned that he had seen people called 'Furries' on line, so we checked it out, I thought that was really cool, folks into being animals, with some who are Dogs and other animals in Human bodies, and I joined.
I have to bark this, it was exciting to find anyone who had any kind of connection with the experiences I had, so finding the Furries an eye opener!
Ron and me had some deep conversations of what it is to be a Dog over the years, and he knows some of the deeper aspects of it, and he's always been understanding of it.
I wouldn't bark that being a Dog has ever been a secret identity really, though as a younger pup is was seen as just pretend play, and I did have to hide it sometimes later on, when as a teen I was supposed to be giving up on things like 'pretend play' and fantasizing.
Thanks to the crew who recorded the segment, and who seeked me out and offered to do the documentary segment with me and Ron. They were understanding, and with a good sense of it was about. I made a blog about my experience filming, soon after this segment aired, and you can see it here:
