Socialist East "Auferstehen aus Ruinen" diente von 1949 bis zur Vereinigung von Ost und West als Nationalhymne der Deutschen Demokratischen Republik. Geschrieben vom Dichter Johannes Becher, erzählt der Beitrag die Entwicklung Deutschlands während der Nachwelt War Two Zeit und unterstreicht die Jugend der Nation als ein Brennpunkt für die Entwicklung des sozialistischen Staates.
"Risen from Ruins", served as the National Anthem of the German Democratic Republic from its foundation in 1949 to the Unification of East and West Germany in 1990. Written by poet, Johannes Becher, the piece recounts the development of Germany during the post World War Two period and highlights the youth of the nation as being a focal point to the development of the Socialist State.
