DISCUSSION:
Read Matthew 12:17-21 again. What are some characteristics of Jesus, as Servant, that stand out to you?
What are some of your challenges in this current season when it comes to serving?
If you were to make a list, what qualities come to mind when you think of how the world may define a successful or influential leader? What about a servant leader?
Do you see any similarities? Do you see any differences in how your natural inclination or experiences might have shaped YOUR definition of a great leader in comparison to the list of qualities of one whom is a servant leader?
Sometimes serving is not so much about what we need to add to our plate but how can we show up in our season for the one right in front of us. Write down a few ways you can make room to serve in this season - right where you are at. What do you love to do? What comes naturally to you? What is a hobby, strength or passion you can use to meet needs right in front of you? Who is one person you currently “rub shoulders with” that you need to be more intentional about cultivating relationship with by serving them well in their season?
