In a stunning archaeological discovery, a collection of about two dozen Etruscan and Roman bronze statues, considered the largest ever found in Italy, will be exhibited at Rome's Quirinale Palace starting June 22. Thanks in part to the intuition of a retired garbage man and amateur historian, Stefano Petrini, who recalled seeing fragments of ancient Roman columns in an abandoned garden near the thermal baths in the Tuscan village of San Casciano dei Bagni, the statues were unearthed in 2021 and 2022, rewriting history and captivating experts worldwide.
