In this video you can ride along on Fylkesvei 60 from Hellesylt to Stranda in Norway. Fylkesvei 60 is an alternative route to the E39 in the direction of Ålesund, passing the town of Stranda.
Hellesylt is a well-known town with a ferry port and cruiseship docking terminal at the end of the Sunnylvsfjorden, near where the fjord meets the famous Geirangerfjord. At the start of the video, we just exit the scenic ferry between Geiranger and Hellesylt. The 60-minute ferry ride is not cheap but a must if you want to take in all the views of the Geirangerfjord.
Alongside the route just outside Hellesylt there is an opportunity to park and take in the view of the Geierangerfjord from a distance. The Geirangerfjord is on the UNESCO world heritage list and one of the most popular fjords in Norway for tourists.
Stranda, further North and situated on the Storfjorden, is rather known for its excellent ski slopes and is therefore a popular skiing destination. The ski season is exceptionally long in Stranda, despite the fact it's not that high in altitude.
