Whose Life Will AI Save?
AI, Bias, Big Data, Health, Machine Learning, Medicine Dr Jack Gallifant is a full-time physician at Imperial College London NHS Trust and an honorary researcher at Guy's & St Thomas NHS Trust. He has a passion for data science and is fascinated by the potential of artificial intelligence to improve clinical outcomes. He is, therefore, an active member of MIT Critical Data, teaching physicians and data scientists how to evaluate clinical data and produce algorithms that work for all. Jack is strongly interested in using technology to reduce health disparities and global health inequity. Recent research has focussed on the recalibration of deployed algorithms, developing tools to interrogate data for bias, and continuously measuring health disparities over time. His goal is to produce a data-centred future that works for all. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
