Swarm control - reliable, efficient and respectful
Hallo Bienenfreunde,
sicher habt ihr euch eine gewisse Systematik zur Schwarmkontrolle und Schwarmverhinderung zurecht gelegt?
Egal wie, es gehört sich in der heutigen Nutztierhaltung sich um die Tiere zu kümmern und eine Fortpflanzung nicht dem Zufall zu überlassen. Zwar hat das schwärmende Volk wie seit 45 Mio Jahren immer eine Chance auf erfolgreiche Gründung und Überwinterung, aber wir Menschen habe es dem Tier durch Vernichtung von Lebensraum und Nahrungsangebot extrem schwer gemacht. Eine gute imkerliche Praxis beinhaltet eine verlässliche Schwarmkontrolle mit tiergerechten Schwarmverhinderungsmaßnahmen.
Manche praktizieren diese entweder zu sporadisch oder mit einem fraglichen Wirkungsgrad. Sich nur auf die schwarmträge Genetik zu verlassen kann oft schief gehen. Den Schwarmfang dann den nächsten Imkern aufbürden ist keine feine Art.

Surely you have developed a certain system for swarm control and swarm prevention?
No matter how, in today's livestock farming it is important to take care of the animals and not leave reproduction to chance. Although the swarming population always has a chance of successfully founding and overwintering, as has been the case for 45 million years, we humans have made things extremely difficult for the animal by destroying its habitat and food supply. Good beekeeping practice includes reliable swarm control with animal-friendly swarm prevention measures.
Some people practice this either too sporadically or with questionable effectiveness. Relying solely on swarm-sluggish genetics can often go wrong. It's not a good idea to burden the next beekeeper with catching the swarm.
