On February 6th, exactly one year ago, a series of devastating earthquakes struck Türkiye and northern Syria, impacting nearly 18 million people across both countries. Tragically, the earthquakes claimed the lives of 56,000 people and left millions homeless, with many children still grappling with physical and emotional scars from the traumatic events.
In the aftermath, Save the Children and local partners swiftly mobilized to provide urgent support to the hardest-hit communities, even as our in-country staff coped with the aftermath themselves. As we reflect on this somber anniversary today, join us in standing side by side with these families, offering hope and assistance along their journey to recovery.
