Uganda Intellectual Property Conference urges investment in branding

NTVUganda An intellectual property conference has opened today in Uganda, with a call on the country's entrepreneurs and innovators, from agriculture to industry, to channel a portion of their investments into branding and the use of trademarks to ensure their works are legally distinguished within the legal and business ecosystem. Mercy Kainobwinsho, the Director-General of URSB, says that despite progress made in regulating the IP space, little has been done regarding sensitization on its economic benefits. The conference was themed “Harnessing IP in the Digital Era."
