Poems by Leonard Peltier
Lopyj Members of the Berlin based LRP-Theater are reading poetry of the Native American activist Leonard Peltier from his book "Prison Writings". Imprisoned on much doubted charges since 39 years, the 70 years old at present enters an important phase of his legal struggle. As an artist, he addresses the same topic in his paintings and writings: the injustice suffered not only by himself but also by a lot of underprivileged members of his own people, to this day.
While pertaining to a deep sense of artistic expression, his work is as direct and realistic as his environment and living conditions suggest. This year marks the preparations for a much regarded legal attempt to set him free.
