"Johannes Michel is Kantor at prominent Christuskirche in my German hometown, Mannheim.
I first learned playing the pipe organ at that same church, studying with then-Kantor Hermann Schaeffer.
Like myself, Kantor Michel has a predilection for mixing pipes with Jazz.
This performance of his Chorale Prelude IN DIR IST FREUDE (Afro-Cuban) is preceded by a rendition of the Chorale it is based on.
Johannes Michel was born on October 1, 1962, which means it's time to say:
Happy 60th birthday, Johannes Michel!"
