Driving in the Netherlands: Rijksweg A13 E19 & A20 E25 from Den Haag to Rotterdam

In this video you can ride along on Rijkswegen A13 E19 & A20 E25 from Den Haag to Rotterdam. Starting on the recently opened 'Rotterdamsebaan' city route that connects the center of Den Haag to the A13, it's only a short distance to Rotterdam and the junction with the A20.
To alleviate some of the rather few city entry routes of Den Haag, the third-largest city of the Netherlands with over 500.000 inhabitants, in February of 2021 the Rotterdamsebaan was opened. The city route (S107) features the new 'Victory Boogie-Woogie Tunnel', an 1860-meter long twin-tube tunnel that runs partly under the Hague and metropolitan city Voorburg. The tunnel was named after a popular artwork of Piet Mondriaan.
The speed limit in the tunnel is 70 km/h and the tunnel was constructed according to the latest design and technology standards. Built for an expected average daily traffic (AADT) of about 38.000 vehicles, an average of 30.000 vehicles used the tunnel in 2021.
The S107 connects to the A13, although not very fluently. There is a junction with traffic lights before you can get onto the motorway. The A13 is an urban motorway connecting the cities of The Hague and Rotterdam. Before the missing link of the A4 between the Hague and Rotterdam was opened, the A13 was handling a ton of traffic and traffic jams were quite usual. The A13 is still heavy on traffic, but the opening of the A4 a decade ago made quite a difference. It's nearly impossible to further expand capacity on the A13, so instead new routes are built to alleviate the motorway of some of the through traffic.
The A13-A16 connection is currently under construction, a new part of the North Rotterdam beltway, connecting the A16 East of the city directly to the A13 North of the city. This will mainly alleviate traffic on the A20 North of the city, as this motorway is one of the most traffic jammed roads of the country and very much capacity-strained. Passing through urban areas, it's also pretty much impossible to expand capacity on the A20. Through traffic from Den Haag passing Rotterdam on the eastern side and vice versa will bypass the A20 in the near future.
