Hemiplegia post op Right Hemispherectomy

Cora had a Right Hemispherectomy on Jan 15, 2019 in an effort to stop tonic clonic seizures, intractable Epilepsy secondary to Cortical Dysplasia. Her expected deficit was loss of use of her left hand, vision loss on the left and weakened gate. Instead she is paralyzed on the left side, hemiplegia. She is learning to walk with a walker but can't do it unassisted. She's been unable to move or use her left arm since surgery until last night. This is the 1st time she's been able to engage those muscles and use them.
It was very exciting and gave us renewed hope.
