The #product warranty of a #solar module is an important selling point. The longer, the better. But how can you ensure that a product exposed to a wide range of everyday weather conditions and adversities continues to function flawlessly even after ten or twenty years? 🌦️⚡
The answer: Exclusively use certified materials and go beyond the norm in testing! ✔️
For #solar modules, the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) has defined international testing standards. These tests are conducted by independent testing laboratories that verify compliance with the #IEC standards and certify the test results. Unfortunately, there are no mandatory regulations for post-audits or checks to ensure that only #certified materials are actually used in series #production. This is why it sometimes happens that, despite IEC certification, solar modules do not achieve the specified product #lifespan.
To guarantee a product lifespan of at least 25-30 years, at Meyer Burger, we exclusively use certified materials and impose stricter quality control than the norm requires because our standards are higher than those defined by the IEC. That's why we are one of the few manufacturers with our own IEC-certified #module testing center. Here, our modules undergo the IEC test series at least three times in a row. This ensures that our products continue to function flawlessly even after 25 years and generate more yield over the same area. 🌟🔬
