Motor.TV Volkswagen is diversifying 🔄 its electric 🌿 vehicle 🚗 collection with the new ID.5—a sleeker, SUV-Coupe version of the current ID.4, boasting a more stylish roofline and rear. This compact SUV, akin to the Audi Q4 e-tron Sportback and Skoda Enyaq Coupe iV, will first land in Europe 🌍, with potential for reaching other markets hinted by VW 🌐, though no plans for a U.S. 🇺🇸 debut yet.
The ID.5 carves 🎨 its own niche with distinct features, positioning itself as the sportier relative of ID.4, integrating elements from dynamic VW models, like the Golf R’s “disconnected” front intake 🏎. Each ID.5 trim flaunts a sloping roofline merging into a functional rear spoiler 🌬.
The notable ID.5 GTX is armed with a dual motor, AWD setup, producing a collective 295 hp, achieving 0-62 mph in 6.3 seconds with a top speed of 112 mph 🚀. Meanwhile, the ID.5 Pro and Pro Performance variants with a single rear motor exhibit varying performance metrics but share a maximum speed of 99 mph 🏁.
All variants are equipped with a 77 kWh battery 🔋, with the Pro models attaining an estimated range of 323 miles, while the GTX settles at 298 miles due to enhanced power and drag coefficient 🛣.
