#Tesla delivered the first Cybertrucks to customers today at an event hosted at its gigafactory in Austin, Texas. The facelifted SUVs benefit from a host of changes that extend beyond the usual styling tweaks. These include powertrain updates, an improved interior, and new safety features.
The Tahoe and Suburban have aged rather gracefully, but the 2025 models have a new look that incorporates cues from the Silverado HD. The daytime running lights are clearly inspired by the pickup, while Chevrolet noted the models have animated turn signals as well as welcome and goodbye animations on higher-end variants.
Chevrolet has addressed those complaints with an all-new interior that is classy and high-tech. A 17.7-inch infotainment system takes center stage and appears to be shared with the redesigned Traverse. It’s joined by a smaller, but more modern 11-inch digital instrument cluster.
The changes extend far beyond displays as the SUVs gain a new dashboard that features clean lines and updated air vents. Chevrolet also noted the instrument panel has been lowered to help things feel more airy and open.
The dash is accompanied by a sleeker steering wheel and a minimalist center stack, which features new switchgear. Further below, there’s a redesigned center console with “new storage options and a repositioned, more convenient wireless charging pad.”
Higher-end variants up the ante and the High Country is notable for featuring authentic wood trim. That’s a first for the Tahoe and Suburban, and the company noted the luxurious variant also has a two-tone interior with a unique steering wheel and “wingtip” perforated leather seats.

This is a remarkable 193kg lighter than its closest competitor and delivers a power-to-weight advantage of 22PS.
The 4.0-litre, twin-turbocharged V8 engine with power of 750PS and torque of 800Nm provides ferocious performance, with the McLaren 750S capable of 0-100km/h in 2.8 seconds and 0-200km/h in 7.2 seconds (Spider 7.3 seconds). This is quicker than its closest competitor on both measures. In-gear acceleration is amplified by optimised transmission gearing and a revised kickdown control strategy.

The Seal is a very important vehicle for the Chinese car manufacturer, particularly if it wants to replicate the success it is having in China across a host of overseas markets. It shares the same e-Platform 3.0 as the BYD Atto 3 and Dolphin that we’re already familiar with but unlike those two, it is the first BYD model to use the brand’s Cell-to-Body technology. This means that the battery is incorporated within the vehicle structure, improving safety.
Speaking of the battery, it is BYD’s advanced Blade battery that uses lithium-iron phosphate as a cathode material and is 100% free of cobalt. European-delivered models have an 82.5 kWh battery pack at launch but a smaller 61 kWh pack is also on the cards.
Sitting at the base of the Seal range in Europe is the Design version, equipped with a single electric motor at the rear wheels producing 230 kW (308 hp), allowing the car to hit 100 km/h (62 mph) in 5.9 seconds. This model also has a solid 570 km (354 miles) of range on the WLTP cycle. Sitting at the top of the range is the Seal Excellent-AWD with two electric motors delivering a combined 390 kW (523 hp). This version needs just 3.8 seconds to hit 100 km/h and can travel 520 km (323 miles) on a charge. Both variants are fitted with an 11 kW 3-phase onboard AC charger as standard and support 150 kW DC fast charging, meaning the battery can be charged from 30% to 80% in 26 minutes.
The European version of the BYD Song Plus Champion Edition already unveiled in China has been launched at the Munich Motor Show. It is dubbed the BYD Seal U and has a design very similar to the Seal sedan, albeit in SUV form.
Like the Seal sedan, the BYD Seal U is underpinned by the car manufacturer’s e-Platform 3.0 but unlike its sibling, the Seal U is being offered in plug-in hybrid and battery-electric guises. While technical specifications of the models heading to Europe have not yet been announced, we do know some of the key details.
In China, the electric versions of the Seal U are offered with 71 kWh and 87 kWh battery packs. Two variants of the EV are tipped to launch in Europe, dubbed the Comfort and the Design. Both models rely on a single electric motor that delivers 204 hp in the Comfort and 218 hp in the Design. Those figures aren’t particularly impressive but it is possible that a more powerful version will be available at a later date.

The Atto 3 compact crossover, the Han sedan, and the Tang large SUV were showcased at the Paris Motor Show today, as they launch in several European markets.
The BYD #atto3 3 was originally introduced in 2021 in China, where it is sold under the Yuan Plus nameplate. It is based on the e-Platform 3.0, measuring 4,455 mm (175.4 inches) long, 1,875 mm (73.8 inches) wide, and 1,615 mm (63.6 inches) tall, with a wheelbase of 2,720 mm (107.1 inches). Those figures place it in the heart of the C-SUV (compact) segment which is quite popular in Europe.
While the Chinese version is offered in different versions, the European Atto 3 comes fitted with a single front-mounted electric motor producing 201 hp (150 kW / 204 PS) and a BYD Blade Battery with a capacity of 60.48 kWh offering a 420 km (261 miles) WLTP range. The model was recently tested by Euro NCAP, scoring an impressive five-star safety rating.

From the outside, the updated #TCross is immediately recognisable by the new design of its front and rear with new integrated LED headlights, LED daytime running lights and LED taillight clusters. The IQ.LIGHT LED matrix headlights are a completely new Volkswagen development and are offered for the first time on the T-Cross. Three new, fresh colours have been added to the model range: the solid colour Grape Yellow (a crisp, sporty yellow), Clear Blue Metallic (an elegant and friendly light blue) and Kings Red Metallic (a vivid, striking red).
The central element in the interior of the new T-Cross is the free-standing infotainment display. The standard touchscreen measures 20.3 cm (eight inches) across the diagonal; the top-of-the-range version has a 9.2-inch display with a diagonal of 23.4 cm.
In addition, all versions of the four-door five-seater will now be fitted with digital instruments as standard. The dash panel in the T-Cross has also undergone a complete redesign: as in larger VW models, the dash panel features soft-upholstered and significantly higher-quality surface materials. The same applies to the front door trims of the Style and R-Line versions. A manual air conditioning system is on board as standard, and the Air Care Climatronic automatic air conditioner with back-lit touch sliders is available as an option.
The T-Cross has always had one of the most spacious and versatile interiors of all compact SUVs. It impresses with its proven operating concept, well-arranged space for up to five people, a rear bench seat that can be moved by 140 mm and an extremely flexible luggage compartment.
When all the seats are occupied, the T-Cross offers a luggage compartment capacity of between 385 and up to 455 litres when loaded up to the height of the rear bench seat. When the rear bench seat is folded down (60:40 split), this creates a flat load area with a stowage volume of up to 1,281 litres (loaded up to the height of the front seat backrests). The front passenger seat can additionally be folded down as standard from the Life specification package and up. The continuous load area from the rear to the front is then 2,398 mm long and can stow everything from surfboards to paragliders.
Pre-sales and activation of the online configurator for compact SUV will start in the fourth quarter of 2023. The market launch for dealers will begin in the first quarter of 2024. Despite the extensive enhancements, the new T-Cross will still be offered at a very attractive base price.
The production of the bestseller in its current version is already sold out in many European markets for 2023 and will be available in Germany for a short time. New vehicles that Volkswagen customers configure and order after the final sales based on the current model will already be part of the new T-Cross generation when they are delivered in the first quarter of 2024. Volkswagen is therefore giving customers and media an early glimpse of this major T-Cross update.

The new #Fiat 600e has finally been revealed and the 500e’s big sibling will offer more room, more range, and more doors for Fiat customers looking to go electric. Available to order as of July 5, prices for the new crossover start at €35,950 in Italy ($39,176 USD at current exchange rates).
For the latest generation of the 600, Fiat has decided to start with the all-electric model, which comes equipped with a 54 kWh battery. This is enough to give the EV a range of 249 miles (400 km) on the WLTP cycle.
In addition, it has a 100 kW charging system, which helps fill its battery quickly. Fiat claims that the 600e can be topped up to 80 percent in less than 30 minutes at a fast-charging station. The new model also comes with an 11 kW on-board charger for slower plugs, which can fully replenish the battery in less than six hours.
Although Fiat says that a plug-in hybrid version will be made available at a later date, for now the 600e is offered with just one powertrain, which delivers 154 hp (115 kW/156 PS) to the road. That’s enough to get the crossover up to a speed of 62 mph (100 km/h) in a relaxed nine seconds.

Audi presented the #SQ7 and the SQ8 with new TFSI engines. The brand is thus responding to the worldwide trend toward sporty gasoline engines in the high-performance SUV segment. The #Audi SQ7 and SQ8 feature numerous high-tech suspension components and offer new connectivity and assistance functions. They will launch on the European markets beginning in autumn 2020.
With its output of 373 kW (507 PS) and 770 Nm (567.9 lb-ft) of torque, the 4.0 TFSI gasoline engine propels the large Audi SQ7 and SQ8 extremely powerfully. The sprint from zero to 100 km/h (62.1 mph) takes just 4.1 seconds; acceleration from 80 to 120 km/h (49.7 to 74.6 mph) just 3.8 seconds. Top speed is electronically governed at 250 km/h (155.3 mph). Depending on the equipment chosen, the SQ7 consumes between 12.1 and 12.0 liters of fuel per 100 kilometers (19.4 - 19.6 US mpg), corresponding to CO2 emissions of 278 to 276 grams per kilometer (447.4- 444.2 g/mi). For the SQ8, these figures are also 12.1 to 12.0 liters (19.4 - 19.6 US mpg) and 276 to 275 grams CO2 (444.2 - 442.6 g/mi)).
The biturbo V8 is a high-tech engine. The cylinder on demand (COD) system temporarily deactivates four cylinders during moderate driving, thus reducing fuel consumption. The two twin-scroll turbochargers reduce backpressure and optimize gas exchange for improved filling of the combustion chambers. They are located in the 90-degree V of the cylinder banks. This layout results in short gas paths and spontaneous response even at low rpm. In the exhaust system, two mode-controlled actuators modulate the eight-cylinder sound. Oscillating coils in the active engine mounts minimize the transmission of vibrations to the body by generating counterphase vibrations. These overlap the engine vibrations and largely eliminate them.
