At the 1996 F1 Spanish GP, the Forti Corse team unveil a new green and white livery in reference to new sponsor FinFirst Group, parent company of Shannon Racing. The deal is for the rest of the season with an option for the 1997 season. At that time, it was only a sponsorship deal, the announcement of Shannon buying 51% of Forti being made on June 30, with Shannon having 6 days to complete the payment, which they never did.
