Blood Oath is an annual limited release from Lux Row Distillers that usually incorporate some sort of finished bourbon. For this year's release, Pact 8, John Rempe has blended 14 and 11-year-old Kentucky straight bourbon with an 8-year-old Kentucky straight bourbon that was finished in Calvados casks.
Aged bourbon is great! But does the Calvados finish add anything unique enough to make this release worth the cost? Because it is NOT cheap!
