Preparations for Uganda’s 6th census :Is Uganda set for the first digital census?

NTVUganda Every ten years, Uganda conducts a national census, with the last one carried out in 2014. The census figures play a crucial role in guiding planning, policy formulation, program implementation, and monitoring development progress in line with national goals. The upcoming Census in 2024 will mark the 6th such exercise since Uganda gained independence in 1962. Notably, it will be the 3rd census conducted by UBOS, established by an Act of Parliament in 1998, and it will be the first paperless census. To gain a deeper understanding of the Census 2024, we sat down with Dr. Chris Mukiza, the Executive Director of UBOS.
