On April 26, 1990, Yamaha Motor and Motor Racing Developments Production Limited (Brabham) sign a basic agreement concerning participation in the F1 World Championship. The agreement says that Yamaha Motor and Motor Racing Developments Production will undertake the joint development of an F1 vehicle package for participation in the F1 World Championship. Following that agreement a 89/90 BT58 was modified to accept the Yamaha OX88 V8 instead of the Judd EV V8 and on occasion of F1 Tyre tests at Silverstone at the end of June 1990, David Brabham drove briefly the BT58Y - Yamaha for the first time on June 28 & 29. After that initial test, the car was shipped to Japan where Ukyo Katayama tested it at Yahama own circuit Sugo https://youtu.be/JYDj1AKnAPU
