70s Bathroom Remodel – Remove Toilet, Widen Doorway, Shorten Shower Wall

Randall Wingett I was working on removing the old toilet myself when Paul and his grandson, Talen, arrived to begin a basic remodel of our master bathroom – widen the doorway and shorten the shower plumbing wall. This needed to be done before the flooring was replaced, which was scheduled for the next day. Our objective was to make access and movement in this small bathroom easier for us, especially when we reach the point of using a walker.
Background:
Having completed the major home renovations and remodeling of our late 70s rancher, it was time to remodel our small master bathroom. Finding an available bathroom remodel contractor was next to impossible, so I made arrangements with the contractor who remodeled our kitchen to do the job through his subcontractors. To save some time and money, I decided to start the demolishing process myself (see my Part 1 and Part 2 videos).
