365 Jeden Tag ein neuer Song I belong to the so-called baby boomer generation here in Germany and, born in Bremen in 1962, I did not have to experience war or any deprivation. The fridge was always full and hunger and thirst and war were always very far away. At a time when social media didn't exist, they were even more distant.
Despite my sheltered and relatively carefree childhood and youth, the so-called Cold War and the wars of that time socialized and sensitized me to the extent that I became a conscientious objector and pacifist. I was involved in various peace groups in the late 70s and early 80s and felt like I belonged to the big peace movement at the time.
So for as long as I can remember I have been against war and the associated suffering of the people involved in it. Often senseless bloodshed combined with deep, traumatic fear, hunger and thirst, torture, rape, hatred and incitement.
I am always against war and for peace!
In this song I describe my greatest, deepest wish, which I carry deep in my heart, that all the wars in the world will finally become peace and that all people, regardless of nationality, religion or skin color, can finally live together peacefully and without suffering!
The title of the song *The War is Over* is taken from some films that took place during wartime and when peace was finally declared, everyone announced with loud shouts *The War is Over* and they celebrated it and cheered and danced because of it Naturally everyone was very happy.
