John Hillman’s Fundraiser Receives Support from Somalia

Hussein Noor, Save the Children’s Area Representative in southern Somalia, shares a message to cheer on John Hillman as he begins his walking fundraiser. Hussein works in our child-friendly space in the region, which helps children with different abilities to learn and thrive. Thanks to the generous support of our donors and partners, as well as peer-to-peer fundraising like the John Hillman Walking Fundraiser, we can build child-friendly spaces and protect children worldwide.
John Hillman is a 104-year-old Canadian veteran who will walk 104 laps of his BC retirement home, Carlton House of Oak Bay, between May 1 and 12 to raise $104,000 for children in crisis. John has walked his age in laps each of the past three years, and to date has raised $333,000 for Save the Children.
