The United States Navy (US Navy) aircraft carrier, USS Gerald R. Ford (CVN-72), is moving toward the Atlantic Ocean with a complete combat force. Thousands of personnel and dozens of warplanes are on standby on the world's largest nuclear-powered aircraft carrier.

battleship_72 will deploy and operate alongside coalition of allied forces in the Atlantic area of operations, Sunday, March 10, United States Navy 2nd Fleet statement.
typical carrier air wing can include 24–36 F/A-18E/F Super Hornet fighters; two squadrons of 10–12 F/A-18C Hornets, one of which is frequently supplied by the US Marine Corps (VMFA), also as fighters; 4–6 EA-18G Growlers for electronic warfare; 4–6 E-2C/D Hawkeyes for early warning (AEW) aircraft, C-2 Greyhound used for logistics (replaced by MV-22 Osprey); and 6–8 SH-60F and HH-60H Seahawk Anti-submarine Helicopter Squadron. The Nimitz class carriers previously operated the F-4 Phantom, RA-5C Vigilante, RF-8G Crusader, F-14 Tomcat, S-3 Viking, EA-3B Skywarrior, EA-6B Prowler, A-7 Corsair II, and A- 6E Intruders.
