Driving in Bulgaria: I-6 E871 from Kazanlak to Karlovo / Казанлък - Карлово

In this video you can ride along on national road I-6 E871 from Kazanlak (Kazanluk) to Karlovo south of the Balkan mountain range in central Bulgaria. The I-6 is an important West-East connection in Bulgaria although it lost some of its significance as a through-route when the A1 Trakia highway from Sofia to Burgas opened.
Kazanlak is a smaller city in the 'valley of roses', just South of the central Balkans mountain range. I didn't visit the city itself but stayed in a hotel on the outskirts with views of the mountains. The mountains in this area are actually quite impressive, with Botev peak being the highest at 2376 meters above sea level.
We don't quite reach the town of Karlovo but instead take an exit not too far before the town in the direction of Plovdiv (South). The I-6 runs from Sofia to Burgas, just like the A1, but it hugs the mountain range so to say whereas the A1 alignment is pretty much flat.
