Katholische Akademie Berlin In September 2023, Azerbaijan seized the Republic of Artsakh/Mountainous Karabakh by force. The Armenian population fled almost entirely to the Republic of Armenia (approx. 2.8 million inhabitants).
How were the approximately 100,000 people received there? How are they doing today? Which perspectives do they have?
Over 90 per cent of the population belong to the Armenian Apostolic Church, which plays a central role in Armenian identity. How does the Church act in the current situation?
The so-called "Velvet Revolution" in 2018 was associated with the hope of more democracy, the rule of law and a free market economy. But that is a long way off. What is the mood in the country? What are the political and economic prospects?
