Die Reste der Zeche Westerholt / Bergwerk Lippe Mitte September 2023
Viel ist nicht mehr übrig geblieben vom Übertagebetrieb der Zeche Westerholt Die meisten, der aus Sicht der Politik, "unwürdigen Objekte" sind bereits dem Erboden gleich gemacht worden.
Das Bergwerk Lippe, in Gelsenkirchen-Hassel, an der Stadtgrenze zu Herten-Westerholt war das letzte fördernde Steinkohlenbergwerk, neben Auguste Victoria und Prosper Haniel, Nordrhein-Westfalens. Vom Denkmal des Monats Juni 2010 (Quelle Wikipedia) ist bis auf den Beton-Förderturm nichts übrig geblieben. Dabei galt der Wagenumlauf als einer der schönsten und modernsten in ganz Europa. Ironie des Schicksals: Auf der Zeche Zollverein (UNESCO Weltkulturerbe) wurde parallel ein "künstlicher", neuer zu Anschauungszwecken eingebaut. Lediglich der Beton-Förderturm und ein paar Nebengebäude im Neobarock und Jugendstil werden erhalten bleiben.
Die Abriss- und Umnutzungsvorbereitungen laufen bereits seit 2008.
Zu sehen: Reste der Kohlenwäsche, die beiden Fördergerüste und bereits renovierte Gebäude des zukünftigen Standorts.

The remains of the Westerholt colliery / Lippe mine in mid-September 2023
Not much is left of the Westerholt colliery's surface operations. Most of the "unworthy objects" from the political point of view have already been razed to the ground.
The Lippe mine, in Gelsenkirchen-Hassel, on the city limits of Herten-Westerholt, was the last producing hard coal mine, alongside Auguste Victoria and Prosper Haniel, in North Rhine-Westphalia. Nothing remains of the Monument of the Month for June 2010 (source Wikipedia) apart from the concrete headframe. The lore circulation was considered one of the most beautiful and modern in all of Europe. Irony of fate: At the same time, an "artificial" new one was installed at the Zollverein colliery (UNESCO World Heritage Site) for illustrative purposes. Only the concrete winding tower and a few outbuildings in neo-baroque and art nouveau style will remain.
Preparations for demolition and conversion have been underway since 2008.
To see: remains of the coal washing plant, the two headframes and already renovated buildings of the future location.
