"Lord, accept the gifts" is a popular liturgical song from Cameroon for offertory or the preparation of gits during Holy Mass. Fr Sylvester Nfah composed this song many years ago. We do not know the exact date.
This song has a simplicity to it that makes it really beautiful. All five stanzas are the same except for the second lines. Those second lines highlight one aspect or the other which we present to God alongside the bread and wine for the sacrifice, our work, ourselves, and our praise.
The simple profundity of this song has been maintained in the manner in which Nsay ki la (Elvis Nsaikila) performed it in 2022. The style is Njang, traditional/folk music of the grasslands of Cameroon. Performing it this way greatly enriches Cameroon Religious Music, as well as African religious music.
