Bruce W. Nelson If Donald Trump’s elected, he’ll work hard to change the past.
No one else has ever done it,
to attempt this, most would shun it.
Trump does not believe that history’s
a thing that’s meant to last
so he won’t plan for our future. He’ll just work to change the past.
If Donald Trump’s elected,
he’ll erase what has occurred.
Such an effort is a waste,
his presumption is misplaced.
But a fool, by reason or by facts, will seldom be deterred,
so Trump hopes to win the future by negating what’s occurred.
His failed last election?….says that didn’t happen.
The rape of E. Jean?…. says he wasn’t there.
COVID deaths?….says it was fake news.
Ukraine invasion?…. says he doesn’t care.
If Donald Trump’s elected, he’ll invent NEW history
Out of whole cloth he will make
some new history, fresh and fake.
Why his followers would buy it is, to me, a mystery
but if Donald says it’s true
brainless MAGAs will think it too.

It’s a blessing I’ve got hair, so you can’t tell.
I’m reminded though of all
the incredible close calls
that I’ve had throughout my time
where I’d have died
If not for serendipity
which has been darn good to me.
