Driving in Germany: Autobahn A2 E34 & A45 from Recklinghausen to Dortmund / No Speed Limit

In this video you can ride along on Autobahn A2 E34 & Autobahn A45 from Recklinghausen to Dortmund. Because of the dense network of Autobahns in the Ruhr area there are many options to get to Dortmund, but some of the Autobahns are in bad condition.
Noteworthy are the A42 and A43 in this area, where typically some older bridges are in a bad state and need urgent replacing. In some cases some traffic is still allowed at a much decreased speed limit or just truck traffic is banned. This is regulated through weight stations ahead of the bridge, which are in place on several locations on the A43 & A42. However, recently they had to permanently close a segment of the A42 for all traffic, meaning that the surrounding Autobahns A40 and A2 are going to need to handle a lot more traffic the upcoming years.
Although the A42 and A40 are somewhat regional Autobahns in the state NRW, the A2 is an International corridor traversing the country from West to East, connecting to the capital Berlin.
