The Wee Family I feel like real friendship should come natural, not forced. One thing I noticed over the last year, our daughter (she has been diagnosed with autism and intellectual disability) has found friends that accept her and love being around her. We did not facilitate this, it just happened.
I believe that it all starts with influence. Her friends treat her with equality, kindness, and inclusion. Where do kids learn these things? From their parents, guardians, family, teachers, and peers. I personally do not think people with autism have social issues, I think society has acceptance, equality, and inclusion issues. People with autism don't need to change, we need to change. #weefam #autism #friendship
