Originally planned for a 1995 release by Nichibutsu, the game was cancelled due to financial issues, but its development was resumed by Arcade Zone in the 2010s after fans who played beta cartridges of it called for an official release, which took place on December 23, 2013 by Super Fighter Team. Plot: 'The game follows the leprechaun twin brothers Flynn (purple) and Floyd (yellow) in their journey to stop the diabolic Tyrant from infiltrating children's dreams and turning them into nightmares.' Played on Hard difficulty. Original prototype was used, since the aftermarket version released in 2013 just changes the copyright screens to reflect the publishing team. 00:00 - Start 01:19 - Stage 1: Town 06:16 - Stage 2: Forest 14:36 - Stage 3: Cave 24:04 - Stage 4: Castle 29:32 - Stage 5: Ship 36:15 - Credits Disclaimer: Most videos by World of Longplays use SaveStates!/media:description> media:community> media:starRating count="165" average="5.00" min="1" max="5"/> media:statistics views="3117"/> /media:community> /media:group> /entry> entry> id>yt:video:KSzn2PZPICg/id> yt:videoId>KSzn2PZPICg/yt:videoId> yt:channelId>UCVi6ofFy7QyJJrZ9l0-fwbQ/yt:channelId> title>Game Gear Longplay [019] Fantasy Zone Gear (US)/title> link rel="alternate" href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KSzn2PZPICg"/> author> name>World of Longplays/name> uri>https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCVi6ofFy7QyJJrZ9l0-fwbQ/uri> /author> published>2024-10-31T05:00:15+00:00/published> updated>2024-10-31T05:00:15+00:00/updated> media:group> media:title>Game Gear Longplay [019] Fantasy Zone Gear (US)/media:title> media:content url="https://www.youtube.com/v/KSzn2PZPICg?version=3" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="640" height="390"/> media:thumbnail url="https://i4.ytimg.com/vi/KSzn2PZPICg/hqdefault.jpg" width="480" height="360"/> media:description>http://www.longplays.org Played by: Rapture From SegaRetro: 'Fantasy Zone Gear: Opa Opa Jr. no Bouken, released outside of Japan as just Fantasy Zone is a Game Gear shoot 'em up game that is part of the Fantasy Zone series. No story narrative, so you just happened to be in the area saw a bad guy and decided lets go shoot up him and his army, and then go home, the end ;) A nice parallax effect on the first level that you don't see again, although there is a nice scaling effect later on with the train. Lots of nice powerups, didn't really matter to much which one you carry, but i do like the delta shield as I can sit on top of the enemy with that if i want for an easy kill. The bosses are less hassle then the normal enemy waves. Some really nice music for gg too. with an echo' reverb effect. I almost shrugged this off as the usual Master System port, but there are notable differences. This just sticks the middle finger up to the gameboy version and shows how the handheld version should have been done ;) Initially it looks like the master system version with just the sides cut off, but its more then that. The whole game area just seems to fit better, and looks more inline with other versions. The master system version looks like its zoomed out so theres lots of empty space on the screen and takes a while to get the curser from one side to the other. I think this version is a bit easier as I was able to find a couple of extra credits. On the other hand, I did need the extra credits in this version. This time, I got the best ending. you cant miss a single piece of equipment in cyberdyne. I thought I fugged it again missing 2 at the end, but thankfully the cpu and arm completed it. You really have no room for error and cant miss a single thing! Released late in the Super NESs life cycle, it was never released overseas until its Game Boy Advance incarnation. In this game, Donald's triplet nephews Huey, Dewey and Louie who do not wear their traditional colors play a prank on their uncle and hide in the attic in hope that he might calm down. They, however, are caught inside a magical book, which is controlled inside by King Pete. After knowing this, Mickey and Donald enter the book in order to find the duckling brothers and stop the evil Pete once more. According to the ending, Pete renounces his evil ways upon being defeated and becomes good. The game is mostly similar to Disneys Magical Quest 2, but some new features are added. One of them is the possibility to play bonus games that are hidden in secret places. The costumes for Mickey and Donald, this time, are different from each other. The first costume for Mickey is a knight armor that has a shield and a punch glove that can hit in different directions, but it easily sinks when it falls in the water; Donald uses a wooden barrel as an armor and a Metal Bowl for a Helmet, which can roll, uses a hammer that only attacks in an arc fashion, and can float when touching the water. Both costumes had a bar that fills over time. The strength of the attack (glove or hammer) depends on how much the bar has filled. The second costume involves using lumberjack climbing gear; both characters use a rope to catch enemies and throw them or latch in certain columns. The only difference is that Mickey lashes the rope in a straight lateral direction while Donald throws from up to bottom. The third and final costume is more different; Mickey is a magician that attacks with magical birds that fly straight forward. Donald uses a magic lamp that summons a genies hand that can shoot magic or serve as a platform so that Mickey can step on it. MORE COMMENT: The Best Game of the trilogy and the most fun ever in a game that never got released outside of Japan... this is a must play for anyone who loves Capcom platformers.
