About a year ago, I watched one of Ryan Leach's videos where he made a diatonic track in C Major. He then had Gavin Leeper "anime-fy" it. Recently, I went back to watch that video, and even at its most basic form, I found myself hearing Ryan Leach's track repeating in my head. The melody is so simple and beautiful. About a year ago, I watched one of Ryan Leach's videos where he made a diatonic track in C Major. He then had Gavin Leeper "anime-fy" it. Recently, I went back to watch that video, and even at its most basic form, I found myself hearing Ryan Leach's track repeating in my head. The melody is so simple and beautiful. I went ahead and took Ryan's melody and placed Gavin's chord progressions below it in a simple trance bassline. Those who are interested, this is the video I'm referring to:

29 years ago today, Super Metroid was released. I wanted to do something for this Super Metroid anniversary, so I remade the theme of Norfair from Super Metroid. This is what Norfair would sound like if it was in Metroid: Predation. I wanted to add a little more percussion and metallic sounds and a fire snap to this track, seeing how the original was just percussion, choir, and a low droning bassline. It's probably the most underrated track in Super Metroid.

I transcribed this track from the original, which wasn't easy, especially with the amount of arpeggios it has. This track, hands down, is probably my most favorite from Metroid Dread. I'm proud of myself for transcribing this, because there were times I wanted to just give up. I'm going to go back and choose different synths for certain sections, try to properly automate the brass section, and hopefully do a good job on mixing, since that's not easy for me to do. Anyway, enjoy.
