The experience primarily involves the first phase of making whisky, completing what many in the industry believe is the most important part of the whisky making experience, the mash. Hello everyone I thought I’d review the ELLC Distillery’s Islay Cask 283 to celebrate St George’s Day! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🥃😊 A single barrel release from a very limited colleciton of ex-peated casks. Interesting facts in production include unsmoked Marris Otter barley biejg mashed and fermented with a single saison yeast strain. The distillate was then collected from the second pot distillation and filled into a heavily peated Scotch Whisky cask from an easily recongnisable Islay distillery and rested for 4…….. years. Founded in 2017 by Jordan Lunn and his family of distillers, with a goal of producing West Midlands (WMD crafted spirits the traditional way; in a 400 litre copper pot still on an open flame. Laying down single malt whisky casks since 2021, with a single barrel approach meaning they are able to experiment with heritage grains, yeast strains, brewing techniques and cask selection; whilst still retaining a full bodied, fruit forward identifying character ointment their spirt. 2024 will see the first WMD whisky come of age. Whittaker's Distillery is now offering a half day hands on whisky making experience and at the time of this video's release is the only one in England to do so! Work side by side with our distillers, and learn what it takes to turn three basic ingredients, water, barley and yeast, into what will eventually become a fantastic single malt whisky. The experience primarily involves the first phase of making whisky, completing what many in the industry believe is the most important part of the whisky making experience, the mash. As part of the experience, you'll be involved in all aspects of this important first phase of whisky making: Adding the malted and milled grain into the mash tun.
