The traditional feast day for St. Ignatius of Antioch is February 1. The modernists changed it to October 17 for whatever reason. CLEAR Ministries remains true to the traditional liturgy, calendar, and TLM.
St. Ignatius was Bishop for over 40 years before Cesar (via Trajan, according to tradition) attempted to lure Ignatius to abandon the Catholic faith and worship pagan idols and demons. His refusal lead to a death sentence of being thrown to the beasts in Rome where larger crowds gathered.
Ignatius wrote to Catholics around the world during his passage to Rome pleading with the faithful to remain steadfast in their beliefs in the One, True, Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church. His death is estimated to have been in or around 107 A.D.
