Driving in Portugal: N222 from Pinhão to Peso da Régua / Douro Valley Scenic Sunset Drive

In this video you can ride along on national route N222 in the beautiful Douro valley from Pinhão to Peso da Régua in Eastern Portugal. This area of Portugal is especially known for its Port wineries.
When staying in Porto I felt like venturing out to the port-making region of Portugal and enjoy some of the best Portuguese scenery. The many steep green vineyards and picturesque towns in this area are absolutely worth seeing. There are river cruises from Porto that go into this direction but as you may notice in the video there is a dam at some point, where I'm not sure river cruise ships can pass.
We visited one of the most renowned port wineries in the area and opted for a cellar tour, which was very nice indeed. It was also a very warm day, with average temperatures above 37 degrees celsius, even the wind was warm 😅 Then we got lucky with this beautiful sunset as we headed back towards Porto. Enjoy!
