The story about the magi (or wise men) in Matthew's gospel shares a good deal in common with an ancient prophecy in Isaiah 60 about light shining on gentiles (non-Jews). This raises interesting questions about prophecy, fulfillment, and how the gospel stories were told by the gospel writers.
