Mrs Lennon also exposed the minister, Jenny Minto's, lack of compassion, saying: 'I am so disappointed by the letter that I received from the minister last week in response to our request for a pause and a rethink. Jenni Minto attempts to justify the downgrade by saying, “This will affect a very small number of families in Lanarkshire.”'
In an emotional debate Labour, the Lib Dems and Scottish Conservatives all agreed in condemning the SNP's decision.
The SNP defended the move, with Jenny Minto saying the proposal is a result of recommendations from expert clinicians.
