Trinity 3. Continuing a series through the Sundays in the Trinity season reflecting on what it means to be a 'Follower of the Way', how followers of Jesus were known before the nickname 'Christian'. Today: 'Walk in God's peace'. Jeremiah feels God has given him a duff deal. What he has to say runs contrary to the state prophets who say what the people want to hear. Ultimately his authority is vindicated as what he had spoken happened. But in this moment, Jeremiah wishes he had never been born. He doesn't;t have much 'peace' - till he acknowledges that God is with him in it, not the originator of all the disasters that befall him. His blend of honesty and humility bring him rest of heart, 'peace'.
