Silas Grocott Cain 'Lipstick drip' is a piece choreographed by Silas Grocott Cain, commissioned by the bristol dance futures fund with creative youth network.
this piece explores how I felt about my body after being raped, how trauma affects us, how we heal from trauma, how we help others heal while trying to heal ourselves, and even the feminine experience of nightlife and its connections to sexual harassment. so really there is a lot to get into with this one. At this point in the project, the performance is a semi-improvised piece. moving forward I hope to develop this project creating more iterations of this choreography and exploring the themes further.
